Oden or Durant? They already have Aldridge. If it is Oden, will they try to trade Randolph and move Aldridge to the 4? Will there be enough scoring with that lineup?

Oden is the guy, we have aldridge already, don't need another one like him in Durant, we have no established Center, so I think Oden is the man to go with. bring the next Wilt chamberlin to town!!!

I agree! I think Oden will be your guy!

Is it strange how the top two picks are going to be made by the ONLY two NBA teams in the Pacific Northwest and one is going to be moving within 2 years?

I think Portland should make a deal with Seattle to acquire Rashard Lewis and then we take Durant in the draft with the first pick..there are talks and interest in acquiring Lewis. Portland needs a seasoned leader to in the middle to work with the young guys. For this to go down we need to trade away Zach..In fact to have any success Paul Allen needs to remove all of the cancer which includes Zach and Miles.. At any rate this is the shot in the arm the Blazers needed and these decisions to be made are good problems to have.

Good call on dumping Randolph. Miles will never play another game in a Blazer jersey, let alone in the NBA. I have a feeling he'll be released at some point, so you can pretty much count him as gone.

Randolph is a different deal. He's the last of the guys with 'baggage' that need to go, but he does have some trade value. He definately has some past trouble issues and a big contract to structure into a deal. I think Boston is on speed dial at One Center Court. Maybe another boat anchor to them? ;-)

Call me crazy, but Blazermania just may start running wild again with a couple of key decisions.

I have to agree 1,000,000 tickets in a day doesn't just happen, Blazer basketball may be back.

Durant is NOT a 4... he's a 3, and a major project to get bulked up to a 4. If anything, there's a possibility that he could be the dreaded 3 and a half, someone who looks great in college and never finds a true fit in the NBA, but his shooting range suggests he can handle the 3 spot. Can he defend 3s?

If you look at Detroit and San Antonio, who are all but destined for the finals, you realize that the current hype about the uptempo game is SOMEWHAT hype. Oden plays defense... enough said.

Randolph is expendable in any circumstance.

Considering the price of 100 level seats, 1M in a day is realistic.

The per game price for 100 level seats is $102.00. So, about 250 100 level season tickets is around a million dollars.

Just to clear this up, Oden is a true center, Aldridge is a four or five. Durant is nothing like Aldridge. He will be an SF. The only way they could get Lewis is by trading Randolph and another piece. Plus they'd probably have to take on a bad salary.

This is a tough break for the Blazers and their fans but maybe it'll be a blessing in disguise. It sounds like this injury was addressed quickly so hopefully there is no long term damage done from letting it go too long before addressing it. In other words, the old "play through it" approach was not in play here.

Also, with Oden gone for the year, Aldridge and Roy are going to be the "go to" guys this year. Last year it was Roy and Randolph so it will give Roy a year of being the main man and Aldridge a year of being the second option. By next year, both of them will have that additional and valuable experience under their belt, which should make things a little easier on them next year when Oden returns to help them out. All of the point guards are still relatively young so hopefully the benefit of another year of experience will show up next year as well.

I'm one of the many who turned away from the Blazers in the past few years due to the knuckleheads they had on those teams. They appear to have corrected that problem now and I'm hopeful they can keep things headed in the right direction. I'd much rather watch this young and well behaved team struggle but grow than watch the teams of a few years back that had more experience and talent but a horrible attitude and behavior.

That having been said, what's the prevailing opinion in Portland about this year given the Oden situation? I've read the newspaper accounts but am wondering if the community is ready to embrace this team or is there a "wait and see" approach now that the "Oden factor" is not in play this year?
