• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Bleacher Reports Cool Kids at Band Camp List

Bleacher Report published its rankings of mid major basketball programs. Pretty soon we will be inducted into the band camp hall of fame. I made a list so you don't have to click through the silly slide show.

These rankings are based mostly on teams' performance since the 2009-10 season, though schools that have been making waves for longer get extra credit.

For the purposes of this ranking, we're considering a team to be “mid-major” if it plays in any Division I conference other than the ACC, American, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or SEC.

1. Gonzaga
2. Wichita State
3. VCU
4. San Diego State
5. Dayton
6. St Mary's
7. UNLV
8. St. Joes
9. BYU
10. Davidson
11. Valpo
12. Northern Iowa
13. Belmont
14. New Mexico State
15. Iona
16. Stephen F Austin
17. Harvard
18. Albany
19. Weber State
20. Florida Gulf Coast
Just missed rankings South Dakota State

I don't see Utah State or Montana

Utah State hasn't been to the Dance since 2010/11, and have gotten progressively worse since then, even I wouldn't put them in the top 20 mid majors since 2009/10.

Montana on the other hand should be on that list, as much as it pains me to say, since 2009/10 Montana has been the best Big Sky program. I think Weber's recent successes (2013/14, 2015/16) are what got them on this list, having said that the 2015/16 season was just the start of a very very VERY long Big Sky champions streak that Weber is going to be undertaking.
