Ian's blog has some good stuff tonight on the football team

Ian. Where would we be without Ian. I digress.

Looks like Akeem Anthony may get a shot at returning some kicks with Mackins. Good news. Murphy needs to learn how to run east/west, not north south. He turned a couple of good blocks into horrid kick returns in the Sac State game.

Ryan Pederson will most likely be starting at OLB. It sucks that Branden Brooks is out for a game, and that we'll be burning RS for Pederson, but I'm anxious to see him out there. I think he can lay some serious helmet and get it done.

I'm excited to see how we play this weekend. Entering the Sac State game, I wasn't too sure about how things were going. Progress is good, and I'm looking for more this weekend.

It's not burning "Pedersen's" RS because he red shirted 2 years ago at Oregon. He Graduated in 05 from Southridge in Beaverton and went to Oregon where he redshirted the 06 season. He transfered here before last year and was elligable to play but never was put into a game. He actually is a RS Soph even though the media and Portland State continually get that fact wrong.

Just some information that I thought would be helpful.

Ian's blog is great, wish he would write even more, and goviks2007 is right in that Pederson isn't a true freshman. No need in worrying about losing his redshirt year.

Thanks for that. So he's a RS SO rather than a RS FR as listed in the roster. Interesting.

I have a feeling we'll be hearing that name quite a bit over the next couple of years.
