Bo Levi Mitchell

I'm a homer but I just want to publicly congratulate Bo Levi Mitchell for his success at Eastern Washington. Bo only picked 15 schools to send out tapes during his senior year at Katy high school; EWU being one of them. June Jones saw it and wanted him to come to Hawaii, but his first visit was to Eastern Washington and he loved it. The following are some interesting fact that you probably don't know about Bo:

1. Bo and his brothers all played baseball and that is still their first love, until Cory decided to try out for a local football team..
2. Bo moved up in Pony League Baseball to play with his older brother Cory. When they were 12 Cory (a pitcher) was pulled out of a championship game replaced by Bo; who walked in the next 3 batters to lose the game. (Cory has never forgiven the coach or Bo).
3. At Katy High School, Bo replaced Andy Dalton (now the QB for the Cin. Bengals). Andy threw 5 ints. in the State Championship to lose to South Lake Carroll in 2005. In 2007 Bo won the State Championship for Katy.
4. In 2007 Bo faced Andrew Luck (Strattford High School, possibly the number one pick in the upcoming draft) several times in 7 on 7 pre-season games and beat him every time.
5. With Cory pitching and Bo catching; they won several 'Select Baseball' Championships.

Just wanted everyone to know how proud I am of both Cory and Bo to make the decision to attend Eastern Washington. They are very special young men and deserve all the accolades they get in the present and furture.

Wineguy;
You are have two fine sons there and should be proud. Kids are a reflection of their upbringing so you deserve some credit for their success'.
From this fans perspective the last two years has been a win win situation for Bo, Beau, and Eastern. We all are hoping that the Eagles can get back on track next year and another playoff season. After winning the NC, thanks in part to Bo, playoff runs are an expectation because classy players and coaches have created that culture at Eastern.
One thing I have been curious about is that initial interest in Eastern. How did he learn of Eastern and become interested enough to send one of those 15 tapes?

WSU was at one time known as "QB" U and the UW has certainly produced some fine quarterbacks but EWU has a long history of quality quarterbacks. The recent retirement of Bill Diedrick Jr. from U-High reminds us he was the first Eastern QB (1967) to lead EWU to a national title game. Eric Meyer won the Payton Award and Matt Nichols broke records, both of these fine young men are winners in every sense and they are both still playing as professionals.

But we have one QB who has led Eastern to the Promised Land and he did so in his first year on campus. The amazing thing about Bo Levi is he played even better in his last year on campus. He is sure to be a Payton finalist and if the voters know the adversity he faced his senior year they will vote him in as the Offensive Player of the Year in FCS football. Thank you Bo Levi and thanks to the Mitchell family for coming to Cheney.

Another great one in a long line of great ones. But Bo Levi did something none of the others did. And that's win a national championship. It's easy to see why kids want to come play in this system, and when you have outstanding receivers like Edwars, Kaufman, Herd, Mitchell, Clark etc. any prospective QB would be crazy not to want to come play here. Congrats to the Gunslinger and all the Seniors. IMO it will be a joke if he doesn't win the Payton. The only thing I am worried about is that in the past they haven't given it to transfers....like Flacco, etc. Hope that doesn't hold true this year.

:notworthy: Bo Levi was a fantastic QB for Eastern!

I'm a homer too and not alot more I can say that hasn't been posted. My son, one of Bo's good friends, and I had the pleasure of coming to Cheney for a football game both last year (Montana) and this year, Montana St. We had a great time with great people. Very impressed with the school, the campus, the program, the fans, and the town. Beautiful area. It has been a lot of fun to watch this football team the last two years. I will certainly be keeping up with Cory and the rest of the team moving forward. Thank you all for the support you have provided to our fine men from Katy TX. Go Eags!
