I here the basketball team starts boot camp today. I here it will go till Tuesday. Good luck guys. Hopefully no one gets hurt or quits the team. They should have a good year.

Please refrain from using the term “Boot camp”. This is a military term use for PATROIC people. You see, I have yet to see an apology come out from these few idiots on the basketball team. When you mock our country as they did. Then I seriously can give a crap about them. Maybe some of us need to re-read Disappointed with Lack of Common Respect post again. I have not forgotten and neither should you.

Sorry gobengal: I didn't meant to imply that you are not patroic, I meant to say Basketball and boot camp in the same sentence. My bad...

Sign : anger managment

Main Entry: boot camp
Function: noun
Date: 1916
1 : a navy or marine corps camp for basic training
2 : a disciplinary facility or program in which young offenders are forced to participate in a rigidly structured routine

No doubt, ISU should drop its basketball program due to the dreadful actions of a few young offenders.

D.M.,

While you are correct in the original context, Joe O'Brien does in fact call his workout regimen for this time of year "boot camp" as it does serve the same purpose in a way. Also, I believe you need to re-read the "Disappointed with Lack of Common Respect" post again. If you have any issues with how Joe O'Brien is handling the situation, which he or I couldn't have spelled out any more clearly, you are more then welcome to call Joe up instead of whining on a message board. He has a phone number and email listed, and you are more then welcome to call him. With the military history of Joe's family, I think if he chooses to call it "Boot Camp", he is just fine in doing so.

The basketball players do not need to make a public apology, nor do they need to apologize to me, nor you. Honestly, I was right there and didn't see anything or hear anything that would make me think something was amiss. I did notice the visiting team chuckling. Apparently they haven't sent over an apology neither.

The lack of respect thing is so over and done with....it has been handled.

just curious - didn't you swear an oath to defend the constitution? curious how that jibes with your statement regarding 'freedom of speech only goes so far with me'..?

Ok, now I’m confused.
Issuid: You said you were there, and saw nothing amiss.
You said Joe has taken care of it. I believe he has.

Bengalclub: dreadful actions of a few young offenders.
If nothing happened, my deepest apology for saying anything.

Signed: last post on this issue.

ANYWAYS...back on topic, yo!

Boot camp is just a brutal workout program that builds the player's endurance and strength. Nobody should get hurt but they will be feeling it (assuming they can feel anything at all, hahahahaha)!

Keep it up, fellas! This will pay huge dividends when the season arrives!!!

no offense taken. nor was my goal to offend anyone who reads this .but if we go looking to be offended, your going to get exactly what you ask for. i think we should always show respect to those who serve as well as our country. I appreciate my family members who are in Iraq as we speak. I think we are lucky to have the freedoms we do.
