BRING ON THE KITTENS FROM BOZEMAN.....

….After listening to the two games the past two weeks......I believe it is totally possible to "win out" and make the playoffs.....I think the game with Weber will be "winner goes to the playoffs"......we simply do not have any "quit" in our offense.....if we can just find some "bend, don't break" in our defense we will be fine.....we need to hold folks to FGs....NOT give up TDs …..anyone else's thoughts ?....."Roar, Bengals, Roar !"........

There is no doubt in my mind we can win games. Our offense is potent even though we had some sloppy drops and a few off key throws. Regardless we still had 631 yards of offense. That should win a game 99% of the time.

Defense makes some incredible plays at times, but we're inconsistent. Liberty went 9 for 9 on the first drive all on outside passes. We played zone defense that entire time as they chipped away down the field. That was frustrating to watch on TV. I'm no coach by any means, but we need to make adjustments a lot faster to stay ahead of competitive offenses exposing obvious weaknesses. The difference form last year is we're losing games we should've won instead of getting it handed to us. Key adjustments and plays will make the difference with this team and we can and need to win from here on out!

Absolutely bring on the kittens. I don’t think their offense can stick with ours 8-)

Team looked really good at times today against a solid and athletic team. I like our chances but sadly we do have to win out.

IMHO, bend not break is not acceptable.
Our defense is giving up way too many yards, And field goals, And TD's. Specifically through the air.
That may be the only thing that makes the rest of the season winable, since we're not facing the top end recievers or QB's the rest of the season.
1 more win makes this year better than last, so I guess things are getting better.

As I said on the broadcast, they'll be favored in the next three games. Don't slip, win them and you've got seven wins and a possible playoff spot showdown with Weber State.

They are still in very good shape to make this a memorable season. Liberty wasn't any great shakes in my opinion but they are still an FBS transition team with athletes that fit that mold. Nothing to be ashamed of losing to them.

I'm confused. So PBP is also Bengal_believer? Why the two user names?

Why not two user names, I have 3 different personalities (depending on wins & losses, etc.)! Two user names likely isn’t enough, HA!!

Bottom line folks, we haven’t had a Dline that can get to the QB “and actually make the tackle in years”. Don’t shoot the messenger, the stats don’t lie and are embarrassing. Lotsa’ excuses, no improvements. At some point Phen will have to cry uncle and fix.

I'm not Bengal Believer. I quoted his post.

You quoted MY post by creating your own post by doing so. The acceptable way. So either you got caught and have more than one username on here - which isn't a big deal, but does take away from your credibility as moderator. Or you are going into peoples' posts and manipulating them. Which is dishonest or inept. You choose.

I'm flattered you all think my vernacular is equal to PBP! Look back at my posts and you'll be able to see we're not the same guy.
However the D-line is no secret for ISU, but it's not usually been, there are guys that can play the position good enough, but what happened to the early season standout names...? Are they gone. Have we been playing all season on second string?
What about this defensive coaching genius? I'm sorry but everyone knows what ISU'S biggest weakness is.

Spud: What in God's name are you talking about?

Good God. Lighten up.

I'm not manipulating any damn posts, stop with your conspiracy theories. I'm one guy, Mark Liptak, PBP, period. End of discussion.

Good Lord.

On a side note, thank you to Mark and Jerry for the great exposure and support they give the team! You guys are awesome.

No worries man, thanks for the kind words. Winning solves a lot of problems and the new team regarding the President and at least for now, Pauline is making a big difference.

MSU is having consistency issues especially at QB. The kid is a great runner and ISU is going to have to be aware of that fact but other than that MSU like I said is having issues.

Whatever happened to Otis Campbell? I miss his comments.

Just checked the MSU board and they're not scared to come play this weekend, they're terrified they're going to be imbarassed.
Honestly other teams believe ISU is legit. Let's stop the leaks on defense and win out the year.
No one is overlooking ISUnow , now legit teams gear up for a battle for us, poor and mediocre teams are desperate not to get too far behind so the final score isn't imbarassing...
Prove em all right this weekend boys!

The biggest kryptonite for the Cats offense is a stout DL that can blow up a play up with just a 3 or 4 man front. EWU had one guy who could do it, Idaho did it pretty well, SDSU and Weber. It's easy to overlook the Cats but all 3 losses we've had are to top 7 teams in the country. That and our offense is uh, shall we saw, sporadic at best.

The Cats passing defense has been pretty good, 6th in the Big Sky in yards per game but T1 in passing TDs allowed (6). Our passing efficiency defense is 3rd and we've picked off 8 passes this year, which is good but not great. We're also 5th in sacks.

Our problem isn't necessarily our defense, who all things considered are playing pretty well despite being 2nd to last in TOP behind only EWU, and being 2nd or 3rd to last in nearly every important offense category except for scoring, which we are 6th. The reason? We either score a 60 yard TD or we go 3 and out, that pretty much sums it up, and is likely why made a shakeup in the offensive coaching staff after the Weber game in which we hit a new low.

I look for us to try to sustain some more drives and focus more on getting ourselves into 3rd and short instead of just hoping Troy Andersen rips off a 60 yard TD run. Andersen from the QB spot has 778 yards on just 99 attempts good for a 7.9 YPC, with 10 TDs which is tied with James Madison for the most in the league. If we can get 20 first downs in this game (honestly a tall task for our offense), be around 28:30 TOP, and keep the turnover margin at 0 I think MSU has a decent chance to win this game.

This board hasn't been the same since bengalcub stepped away and one of Tingey's losers and douches jumped in to moderate it.

I'm out.
