New Portland State coach Nigel Burton has completed his staff with the hiring of offensive coordinator Bruce Barnum, who served in that capacity at Cornell the past three years.
Barnum, a 1987 graduate of Eastern Washington, started his coaching career at Columbia River High in Vancouver. He spent 10 years at Idaho State, including six as O-coordinator and one as defensive coordinator.
• Should be a fun Friday night at the Multnomah Athletic Club, with Dwight Jaynes serving as emcee for a Mouse Davis roast. Among Mouse’s ex-QBs who will exchange barbs with the master are June Jones, Neil Lomax and Chris Crawford. Those interested in attending can contact Bob Gill at 503- 652-2970 or at [email protected].
