BSC Tourney to Las Vegas?

Observation: only the larger conferences split the mens tournaments from the womens tournaments. Most of those who do (the Pac-12 an obvious exception) run the tournament in different time frames in order to maximize television coverage. Meanwhile, the Mountain West, WCC, and WAC all play women's and men's tournaments "pretty much concurrently" in Las Vegas.

I'm going to guess that the Big Sky sees the economy in this. I'm going to guess that Montana locales and Ogden are out for this reason.

The Spokane/Cheney deal seems interesting, if potentially confusing. However, I really think everything points to Reno Events Center, and that's about as reasonable a compromise as you're going to see.

Great we're in, but scrambling to get flights & hotel accommodations to much stress I'm OUT!
Poor Women's tournament bigger mess had to reschedule days now that the men are also sharing site. Have you ever cancel & rescheduled a flight! All this stuff is last minute hectic & expensive for a weekend in Montana.

Have to agree. Other conferences, they know well in advance where their conference tournament is and they can make arrangements and travel packages beforehand. We didn't know until 4 days before whether we were going to be in Missoula, Cheney, or wherever Sac State was going to host it. Small wonder why the tournament only draws well from the host city. No one can get there.

If a large-numbers package deal for the entire conference could be drawn up for a conference tournament in Hawaii to make it a great, great deal for vacationers, retirees, etc., that would make for a very good reason (and season) for visiting the islands of our 50th state.
