Observation: only the larger conferences split the mens tournaments from the womens tournaments. Most of those who do (the Pac-12 an obvious exception) run the tournament in different time frames in order to maximize television coverage. Meanwhile, the Mountain West, WCC, and WAC all play women's and men's tournaments "pretty much concurrently" in Las Vegas.

The Spokane/Cheney deal seems interesting, if potentially confusing. However, I really think everything points to Reno Events Center, and that's about as reasonable a compromise as you're going to see.
