Both Sac and Weber are equally dangerous in my opinion. Both teams have enough talent to beat us. Weber definitely has the most explosive player out of the two teams. I never like playing a team that has a guy that can drop 35 on any given night. Both teams have very good coaches as well. Weber has a richer tradition with postseason play though. I think I would prefer to play Sac on Thursday. Portland St. is the team that really scares me on our side of the bracket. They are super solid and they will put full court pressure on us the whole game. I think we have the guards that can handle that pressure this year though. Let's take care of business Thursday!

If I had my wish, we wouldn't have to play anybody until the championship. Everyone is dangerous. I think you guys will be favored by somewhere between 3 and 4 points over Weber.

Welp, Sac State it is tomorrow morning! let's go!

This also gives us another chance to hear Larry Weir excel in pronouncing Izayah Mauriohooho-Le'afa's name. I don't know how he does it so quick and so smooth. I guess it's because he's a pro.

This thing is getting canceled, right? I haven't seen anything about the Big Sky, but I don't see anyway that they play games today.
Anyone else?

Just announced it's cancelled. EWU is the de facto champ and will represent the big sky in the NCAA tournament if it happens.

No chance the tourney goes forward as planned.

Agreed. I assume with the other conferences cancelling as well, the tournament is done this year. Without playing, I am just going to assume EWU would have went on a tear and won the whole damn thing.

Your 2020 NCAA Division Basketball Champions: Eastern Washington Eagles!

Just make sure EWU is the last to pull out and we be putting up the De facto National Championship Banner...sweeet!

This is really painful for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, this would've represented a big revenue stream for Eastern at a time when it would have really been helpful. Second, it sucks for the players, especially Peatling, who'll never realize what an NCAA tourney feels like.

Give everyone another year of eligibility for both Winter and Spring Sports....if this continues how hard will it be for coaches to recruit especially for Spring sports as with no competitions going on they can't see results and improvements....

Rumor today is that the tournament committee may still have a 68-team bracket out on Sunday via conference call based on the performance of every team up until the season was canceled. From what I understand, every member conference is required to have a contingency for who gets their bid in the event of the conference tournament being canceled, so every conference definitively already has a conference champion (Eastern, in the case of the Big Sky).

If this does happen, Eastern will officially be a participant in the 2020 NCAA tournament despite every game being canceled. Supposedly, this is being done as an alternative measure to reward teams who did well with official representation in the tournament--- obviously, it doesn't change the tourney being canceled, but it does offer some solace.

From what I understand, this is being seriously considered. Apparently, Gonzaga is leading the charge to some degree as they routinely have a lot of guys who transfer in from lesser programs with the intention of being able to compete for a championship.
