Cal Fires Sonny Dykes...

I need to stay off this forum and stop reading college football news until the Red and White game. I needlessly get stressed whenever these situations arise.
 
Weird timing to wait this long after Cal's season was over. Makes me think they have someone else already lined up and wouldn't be open to interviewing Beau, otherwise they fire Dykes in November.

Maybe they were coming up with the 6 mil buyout for Dykes. There is only one Phil Knight. :lol:

I love this! I like the fact that he took a stand. All these coaches having one foot out the door or always looking for their next big pay day. I get that some coaches want to move up the coaching ladder, but when you are at a P5 school you shouldn’t be looking ANYWHERE except NFL!

Cal AD Mike Williams confirms that Sonny Dykes was technically fired without cause, but he did acknowledge that Dykes' interview with Baylor played a role. "It's part of the overall evaluation," Williams said. "We want to make sure that we have a coach who wants to be here. We want a football coach who understands that and wants to be part of that."
 
Oregon State has hired Scott Barnes as AD. So we have just a couple of years before Coach Beau is the new Head coach at Oregon State. So we have been blessed to have a great coach for so long.

I don't know how much we have to worry about Beau going to Oregon State. Barnes and Andersen are very close and Andersen just signed an extension.
