Tough first half... Lillard looks like he is pressing, and Gutierrez is doing a great job on him. 32-18 at the break

thanks for the feed info. Just got home cracked open a dew and hoping for a closer game for the second half. Its nice that I'll get to see the game. Thanks again!

Bamforth and Fulton carrying them here in the 2nd half... Cal leads by 10 with about 11 mins to play, Lillard needs to heat up quickly for Weber to have a chance.

Admittedly, that first half was easily the worst half of basketball WSU has played this season. However, they've looked OK in the second half and can't buy a foul. One of the worst home jobs I've seen in a long time. Lillard 2-of-13 right now and they've been hacking the shit out him all night.

He absolutely can't though. They are doubling him hard. We need good ball rotation and shoot open shots/layups.

I miss K-Bull

ditto.... I never really expected weber to win this game, but its tough to watch these games against really good teams and know that we could be competing lots better if our bigs were healthy. At least Scottie B seemed to get his shot back.

Scotty was pretty much the only silver lining in this one. Tresnak was slowly taking a few steps forward during the past few games, but took a monster step back in this one. Mayville can't come fast enough to help boost these guys' confidence.

I also thought Fulton looked good as he hit some good open shots. But overall pretty disappointing show tonight.

Here's a few game photos.

Yeah the more I think about it we really needed both Bullinger and Mook for this game. They could have defended their #3 much better. He could shoot over anyone we put on him. Guttierez is a special player. He's probably the fastest player we've seen in a long time.

just saw the box score. i cant help but roll my eyes when i see the following:

fouls: cal 14, wsu 21. cal committed 2 fouls in the first 14 minutes of the 2nd half.
free throws: cal 19-24, wsu 5-8

game was cal's season high for attendance, 8,000

cal was really good, solid D. road game, i dont think we played bad, 7 turnovers was great. i would love to see a healthy full strength weber team challenge cal on a neutral or at the dee.

fulton had his best game of the season, 13 and 8 and 3 3's.

"BERKELEY, Calif. -- Jorge Gutierrez scored 24 points and held Damian Lillard, the nation's leading scorer, to his worst offensive performance of the season as California beat Weber State 77-57 on Friday night."

even in his "worst offensive" performance he still had 14 points, 3 assists and 0 turnovers but then again St. Mary's coach was pleased his team held Dame to under 40. lol

he was way good. we wont see another team all year like cal. from here til march the only way we lose is if we let teams win. i cant wait to get bull back.

I've been harping on our bigs to get more rebounds and they did just that last night. Against that front line, I would say that it was a huge step forward for Tres and Fulton. I hope they can keep that same focus going into BSC play.

Coach Rahe said on the post-game radio show that Tres had a back injury in the first half and tried to come back in the 2nd, but was hurting.

Great, another big hurt. Hope it is VERY short lived and that Tres is good to go by the next game.
