I'll admit, it's nice to have cp on the schedule every year. We already had cal-davis every year so that is nothing new for us. It also guarantees us at least one well attended game every year (assuming the cp and cal-davis games are alternating home games every year). The fact is not many (ok, very few) local fans give a damn about the BSC teams which is why our attendance is lacking. I don't think this move kills the WAC consideration more so that my guess is the BSC did this in anticipation of the WAC stealing a couple BSC schools, especially if the WAC can get it together and somehow stabilize itself. We have been twiddling away in FCS (sure we haven't won as much as we should be, but I don't think we would see near sell out crowds for BSC games even if we did) and if we are considering long term viability for football, it is in my opinion that we should try our hand at the WAC. Fresno and Nevada leaving the WAC will definitely make the WAC not as appealing as it once was, but at the FBS level, I think regular match-ups with those schools would pretty much be a given. The fact is local media doesn't care about FCS, so why not try and make some waves at the FBS level. With all that is going down with conference alignment there is no telling what will happen, but Sac State needs to take a long hard look at the WAC option and at least see if it makes sense.Eagle_Power said:Two solid schools that can only help the strength of the conference. I also like that this move stamps out all the stupid rumors that these two schools might try to join the WAC and I am wondering if Sacramento State is now questioning whether or not that is something they still want to pursue especially with Fresno gone.

I honestly believe that the Big Sky is waiting to see how things pan out with the WAC. If the WAC dissolves, then Idaho and SJSU have little to no options and will be trying to find a home for their football programs.......I am sure the Big Sky has considered this. If the WAC does get their **** together, then I would say that Southern Utah would be the most viable option, as they'd come in as an all-sports member. I have also heard mention of North Dakota and/or South Dakota, but they don't really make a lot of sense geographically unless you are an MSU. Also heard some mention of Denver and Seattle, but these are small basketball-only members that wouldn't deliever a 12th member for football, if that's what the plan is.
Utah Valley State has expressed interest in the BSC and have even go so far as to mention starting a football program........

Regarding the WAC....is there any sane reason Montana would be considering leaving the Big Sky and going there?
