Paul Peterson is in his fourth season on the Thunderbird staff. Coach Peterson wears many hats on the SUU staff, including passing game coordinator, recruiting coordinator, quarterbacks coach and receivers coach.
During his first three years on the staff Coach Peterson has had a huge hand in revising the SUU offensive record books, particularly the passing game records.
In the past three years the Thunderbirds have set and reset most of the team’s single-seasonpassing records, including passing yards, pass completions, passing touchdowns and pass attempts in a season. The single-game records have also largely been re-written in the past three years.
Coach Peterson has also worked with the three of the most prolific quarterbacks and two of its all-time great receivers in the past three seasons. In his Peterson’s first year as quarterbacks coach quarterback Cody Stone re-wrote many of the single-season and single-game records, then the following season, in 2009, Cade Cooper bettered most of the season records. Last year Brad Sorensen threw for more yards than any quarterback in SUU history and had the second-highest total yards mark.
