Looking forward to next weeks game. I dont know a lot about your team anymore other than I think WSU has to be considered the top BSC team in a mixed up league.

MSU has a young team under 2nd yr head coach Jeff Choate. This team as improved a lot since last years meeting. Choate wants a power run team with a stout defense and it is beginning to come together. We are pretty healthy now. It should be a good game in front of a full stadium.

Anybody wanting to discuss the game or need information about coming to Bozeman, bobcatnation.com is a good place.

I remember watching the game in Ogden last year and thinking to myself that Murray could really blossom into a fantastic player if he had more control over his passing. It seems he has indeed improved in that department of his game and it shows in MSU's games. MSU as a team has also improved since the matchup in Ogden last year, but...so has Weber. Which makes this game really exciting.

I'm actually really excited for this game on many levels. Weber might actually be one of the best if not the best team in the league and a win in Bozeman can go a long way. The Game has a Big Sky Championship feel to it and it's only the 2nd conference game of the season. The Weber/MSU game has more meaning now than it has in the past and I hope they continue to and the rivalry that was once very strong can be revived.

Cats...you still have that picture?! Ugh!! It has be 8 years and I'm still shaking my head over that play call. Yes, lets run a sweep/pitch to the strong side on a shorten field?

Not only once, but at least twice in a row to end the game.

Seems like a distant, distant past, doesn't it?

I am soooooo thankful for our current situation.

I still think that that game and that goal line stand was a turning point for the Cats in that era, we had several good years after that and then have had a down period. The Cats have rebuilt again and are looking for another turning point in their program under this staff. Hopefully I can get a replacement pic this year.

I'm happy to see WSU where they are, right now I think they are unquestionably the strongest team in the league. I am hoping that our young team that is just finding it's identity can pull off the upset.

Murray has advanced nicely, you can definitely see the affect coach McGhee has had on him since last spring. He still has lots of room for improvement but he is now a true dual threat and the way the OL has been playing the last 2 games the power run game is making our offense hard to defend with him in the backfield.

Ugh!! That's right. One of those head vs. Wall moments.

Chris Murray is the Bobs offense. Stop him and you stop State. Anderson had a nice game at tailback last weekend against UND and that really helped State keep the ball moving. UND didn't have a lot of answers and it shows in the final score. Yet, the rushing prowess of the Bobs last weekend could have been as much due to talent (which they have a lot of) as it was to the Sioux being a mash unit on defense.

Defensively, I'm thinking Coach does the same thing he did against Davis. He is going to pack the box and dare the Bobs to throw it. Easier said than done. Weber will do what they do on offense, if they have to pass it a lot they will. If not, they will sustain long drives by playing smash mouth football.

So the same strategy that both UND and SDSU used. #4 SDSU barely held on to that win, UND may be injured, WSU probably has better corners than either, gonna be a fun game to watch though.

Doesn't look like there are a ton of options. That's what I would do with the players available. I think speed and experience are going to be factors. I wouldn't doubt seeing State playing the same way on defense. It might come down to who has the ball at the end.

I guess I agree, stack the box and with your corners playing press we will find out 2 things, how good really is our OL, I think they will surprise. the other thinking will be how good is Murray against cb's that press, we havent really seen that yet and I am nervous about it.

The other unknown is turnovers, we were bad last year, -4 in our game with you, I think we are even for the year right now

Davis had a really good QB and a top notch receiver. They were able to get a lot of yardage through the air, but we shut their running game down and they couldn't crack the endzone. I'm not saying that their team is as good as MSU, just that our game plan seemed to work with their team. I'm sure that our coaches will watch the UND/MSU game, along with others, and come up with a new game plan. Once the game starts, all game plans are subject to change. Against Davis, our receivers and backs seemed to be a step faster than their DBs, hence all the big plays. I think we averaged nearly 10 yards per play. That is almost unbelievable. I don't think that will happen very often.

Completely off topic but I really like the Purple helmet, black jersey, purple pants uniform combination the team wore on Saturday. I think it's their best combo

Below are some stats you should all mull over a bit.

Week 2: Sac St. had 535 yards of total offense against Incarnate Word and scored 56 points.
Week 4: Sac St. had 586 yards of total offense against Southern Utah and scored 54 points.

Week 2: Davis had 518 yards of total offense against San Diego and scored 35 points.
Week 3: Davis had 490 yards of total offense against Portland State and scored 37 points.

Against Weber:
Sac had 210 yards of total offense (24 points scored)
Davis had 373 yards of total offense; 13 rushing (3 points scored).

It's definitely no secret that the defense has been really huge for us this year, they are keeping opposing offenses off the field and in return our offense is scoring points.

This Weber State team has outscored their opponents 168-60. Take the UM Western game off it's 92-60 in our favor and take Cal off and it's 72-27. This team scores and does it in bunches. Our special teams has also been huge this year, Trey Tuttle is 18-18 PAT's and 6-6 Field Goals, We have a punt blocked and returned for a touchdown and a punt kick returned for a touchdown. In all honesty the Wildcats have played extremely well in all three areas of the game. Lets hope it continues this Saturday in the Sold out unfriendly confines of Bobcat Stadium.

Great stats NOCat! I'm cautiously optimistic that Coach Hill has a REALLY good team on the field this season. Defensively, they are solid and that should help give them a chance in every game. Offensively and statistically they look like one of the top teams in the league; however, I would like to be convinced at Bozeman that they can sustain scoring drives and not be mistaking some fortunate bounces and big plays for offensive prowess.

The forecast for Bozeman looks very similar to the conditions at WSU last Saturday, maybe with a better chance of rain. Game time is forecast to be in the low 50's with an increasing (38%->58%) chance of rain.

I don't typically throw out predictions or enjoy it but what the hay, after looking over some stats, the season to date, and home field/weather, I'm going with WSU 30 MSU 27.
