Nice win yesterday on the road over EWU. Stop on by www.aggiesportstalk.com for some friendly banter with your rivals. We are also tailgating early on Saturday and are welcome to stop by and eat/chat prior to the game.

Alcohol-Free tailgating, correct? lol...

The Aggies should be favored in this game (I don't think we've earned that honor yet...). However, after a huge hornet win on the road over a team coming off a bye, I think they can do the same next week.

Look for Sperbeck to try the same strategy next week, running Croxdale early on some crafty run plays that give him a chance to hit some holes hard. Mix in a little HIlliard, then go with a heavy dose late in the game.

Haven't seen a forecast yet, but I"m going with

Hornets 24

Manure Pile 22

It will be tough for you to run the ball on Saturday against our run defense. If we stuff the run, it could be a long day. It also doesn't help you gave up 330+ yards in the air. But we shall see...

Yes, tailgating is alcohol free. The UC police haven't been sticklers up until now, but with Causeway they could be out in force. You guys are welcome to stop by if you want.

"330+ yards in the air" Bend but not broke, EWU only got one real TD the other should have been a touch back. Our young DBs finally stepped up yesterday against a good throwing team especially in the second half. Nichols is one of the better QBs in the FCS and we sacked him 5 times. Denham better be ready for the pressure or it will be a very long and painful day for him! About stuffing us in the ground, I don't think so, you sure couldn't do it last year and we are better now. If anyone will get stuffed on the ground it will be the aggies.

All Im going to say this week with in this thread is to keep it semi-clean :D

That and GO HORNETS.....STING THE AGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why i used "Ph"!

i can't make the game, but with the causeway shirts they are planning to wear (my cleaner got their b.a. from sac state), you all should give them MAJOR grief after the hornets spank them.

If it helps, my wifey is an Davis alum (M.E. 1976), and she said it took her going to graduate school at Cal to become something in life! Then she married me and it's been downhill since...

GO HORNETS!

Post something over on our side, get things going. It is a rivalry, what would it be without t-shirts making fun of each other?!

6th man, what has happened to the UCD fanbase? I hear games are not as well-attended as usual and if your message board is any sign, there's a dramatic drop off in interest.

Would you attribute this to the winning season streak being broken? The move to FCS? The old Big West / Great West Message Boards going under?

I can't pin it down. We have had a tough stretch of games attendance wise, the highest being a sellout for Homecoming. It might be that we have had 5 in a row against teams like Southern Utah, Northern Colorado and Iona. The casual fan has no idea who or where Iona comes from. It is tough to watch as a season ticket holder because so many seats on my side of the field are left open. That, coupled with the fact that students haven't been showing up towards the end of the home stand makes things worse.

It will be a sell out on Saturday, so if you are planning on going and don't have tickets, buy them now. http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=6311125

The message board I can't explain. We have gone through stretches where things are hopping, and then we go through lulls like we are in now. Which really perplexes me because basketball starts this week, our men's soccer team is in a dogfight for a conference championship and we play you guys in football. We really have only a couple of games that always draw well, Sac State and Cal Poly, because the students/alums are familiar with both of you.

In terms of the Big West boards "going under" I don't think that argument holds any water. There is a new Big West Boards, and if anything, them ceasing to exist has helped us. 99% of the people who were on that board post at aggiesportstalk.com, and we continue to gather members. We just don't have the consistency of other schools. I am sure if some Sac State fan came over and ruffled some feathers that would light a fire under their butts.

Stop on by www.aggiesportstalk.com and also the tailgate we have before every game. We are there early and love to talk football. As an added bonus, parking is free if you get their early enough. Here is a map to the road closers and other pre-game information: http://aggiesportstalk.yuku.com/topic/541

GO AGS!

I recently heard that Iona is considering dropping football. That sure doesn't help attendance and awareness of an opponent.

Should be a good game, you have a very good DL, it will probably seem similar to the NAU game for Sac. It will be fun watching Croxdale kickin it on that swift turf.

We gotta rekindle this game, I remember games with 18K+. Makes too much sense.

Here's to an injury free contest. I'll start the banter....

Did you hear about the Aggie that drove his pickup into the lake?
His dog drowned while he tried to get the tailgate down.

I don't know, I went over there to check out your board and well, it's so dead it's kinda scary. What do they say, "A clean stall is the sign of a dead horse."?

I also have a problem with a school that's biggest event is a picnic, everyone's afraid of the UC police, and they have an animal husbandry program.

What do you call an Aggie with a sheep under one arm? A rancher.
What do you call an Aggie with 2 sheep under his arms? A pimp.

Looks like you guys have a cool looking stadium, though.

GO HORNETS!

A Sac State, a Cal and a UCD student were in an airplane that crashed, They're up in heaven, and God's sitting on the great white throne. God addresses the Sac State student first: "What do you believe in?" The Sac State Student replies, "Well, I believe in power to the people. I think people should be able to make their own choices about things and that no one should ever be able to tell someone else what to do. I also believe in feeling people's pain." God thinks for a second and says "Okay, I can live with that. Come and sit at my left."

God then addresses the Cal student: "What do you believe in?" The Cal student replies, "Well, I believe that the combustion engine is evil and that we need to save the world from CFCs and that if any more freon is used, the whole earth will become a greenhouse and we'll all die....Waaahhh." God thinks for a second and says: "Okay, that sounds good. Come and sit at my right."

God then addresses the UCD student. "What do you believe in?"
The UCD student replies, "I believe you're in my chair."

Funny joke I found online, more to come. :D Lets beat those Berkeley rejects!

That is a good one, and damn true!

How many UCD students does it take to change a light bulb?

None: Davis doesn't have electricity.

We have to have electricity, how else would all those hippies recharge their electric cars? :P

Too bad you don't have enough seats in your "stadium" to properly host the Causeway Classic! At least it's on TV see you next year at Hornet Stadium.

Woah there Tiger Woods. When was the last time you filled your stadium for a football game? Yeah, called supply and demand. Plus, if you went to a game at Aggie Stadium, you would realize that it is a helluva lot better than the track and field stadium you have. Can you really argue against what we have? Facility-wise all around we have you beat like a mule.
