See you there for the double feature on Nov. 21! Cal and San Diego State play after the Aggies and Hornets.

Will be interesting to see if Cal fans show up. Perhaps many Cal fans in Sac. Know that in the Bay Area when Cal plays at Saint Marys over the past years there seems to be little support making the short trip to Moraga. Even when Cal plays at Stanford there does not seem like many go besides the band and cheer team. Will be interesting to see. Certainly hope there is a huge turn out from Sac, Davis, Cal and SDSU. Cannot recall San Diego State basketball playing in Sac. Know they have huge fan support at away games but in Sac early in the non conference season, we will see.

Remember back in the day at Arco when it was a new arena and Davis and Sac were Division II, 6,000 showed up for the Causeway. One of those special times in history between the rival schools that is a distant memory .

I got my tix today....a bit expensive but there are 2 games and the newness of the Golden 1 Center makes it a little easier....

We discussed the possibility of playing a game or two at G1C over a year ago. Glad to see it's actually happening.

BTW, great call on San Diego State, SDHornet!

If I understand this correctly, we will be playing Davis at Golden 1 Center for the next 4 years...what I would like to know is, will these all be double headers or will we try to make it work standing alone...if they are to be double headers, I wonder who the other games will involve in future years...I love the choice of SDSU vs Cal as my son is a Cal grad and I already go to 6 to 8 Cal games a year (saves me some mileage) and Cal has a damn good team coming back this year...

8-)

Next year will also be a double header. Some pretty big heavy weights too (I forget exactly who, otherwise I would post it). The big step now will be seeing if Katz/Macriss can leverage G1 in to getting a home and home with some name programs. I'd like to see us play more than just the Causeway in the nice new downtown digs.

KANSAS v. STANFORD from what I just read recently.

Totally agree. More of these double-headers would be nice. Seems like some of the heavyweights are more than willing to play in a brand new state of the art arena where they can get in some area recruiting as well.

was wondering about the Stanford/Kansas game that was being promoted last Monday. That game , if I remember right is slated for Dec. 21, 2017. That would be cool to see the Sac /Davis game that night as well.

Do wish the Sac / Davis game was the bigger draw but SDSU fans really filled up Golden One last Monday. There was 10K in attendance and assume at least half if not more were SDSU fans.

The crowd was small for the Davis / Sac game but it was a great atmosphere as the crowd drew bigger during the game and Sac State showed up big, maybe a few hundred students, cheer/dance teams . pep band, the whole works and it felt like a Sac State home game of sorts . And was listening to Cal and SDSU fans talked about many connections they may have had to Sac State as so many Sacramento residents supporting other schools do. Sort of felt like how things might be on campus whenever the Event Center ever gets built.

GoldenI One s amazing. Sort of like a huge movie theater, amazing sound , amazing visuals, very spacious and comfortable.
