Its kind of a stretch to play a "we aren't FBS yet" card, right? More plausible to play this card if Sac was still in the Big Sky and hadn't gone all-in on the "varsity." The MAC/CUSA invite is coming this week right? And the new stadium?

The sad reality is this has happened all over the country to long-standing FCS rivalries. When one school moves to the FBS, the rivalry dies. If Sac aborts the FBS mission, hopefully the Big Sky takes them back so it becomes a conference game again. Might be too late though, as Sac has been replaced by Utah Tech and Southern Utah.....Oops.

Even with an FCS independent Sac, the game will be hard to schedule. But not impossible- I think the schools could figure it out, but it will never be the same if played in August/September.

The bottom line is this is all Sac's mess and everyone outside this message board sees it.

The game was played in September and October many times. I don't remember it being the last game of the year too often even when the teams were in thier orginal home, the Far Western Conference.

True! The last September Causeway was 2005 in Sac. Since then its been in November.

Nothing better than the last game of the season though.

Its too bad the money/exposure situation becomes an issue with FCS/FBS games. It wasn't that way with D2/1AA and D2 days. They used to just get on a bus....

It’s not bad to be dumb, but it’s really bad to be dumb and confident. You putting MWC in conference games (that’s where you’ll are headed) together with isolated B10 away body bag games is just dumb, there will be no conference affiliation.

Davis isn't going FBS within the next 10 years. Davis doesn't do anything fast.
They will play 1 FBS game a year for what feels like an eternity.

Based on that, how about you go spend time with those outside of this message board.

It’s pretty telling (and hilarious) that those so confident in their favorite university/teams current stature and future are so interested and invested in a rival university/program they believe to be a mess and headed nowhere.

So very interested to the point that they frequent this forum on a daily basis to discuss it. Go figure.
