Here are Blink's stats over his years in Winnipeg:

WHAT A RUN

In 6 1/2 years as the team's starter, Charles Roberts became the most productive running back in Winnipeg Blue Bombers history. A few highlights:

- Franchise-record 9,987 rushing yards, good for fifth in CFL history

- three-time CFL rushing king (2003, 2005, 2006)

- Winnipeg's most outstanding player four times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006)

- six consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons

- seven-time CFL all-star

- CFL's outstanding special teams player in 2001

- 37 regular-season games with at least 100 rushing yards

- 79 touchdowns

- 362 receptions

I really don't understand this trade from the Winnipeg point of view. This completely eliminates their awesome Sac connection as they don't have Ryland anymore. I'm not sure what's going on with BC, either.

I would have been more happy with a cross-border trade as one sometimes sees in that other brand of football....

Great trade for BC.Lions have been underachieving and need a shot in the arm.Roberts will give them that.I heard an interview with him and he sounded very happy to get a fresh start,Winnipegs O-line has been struggling with 3 new starters this year so Roberts numbers are a bit down.I cant wait to see him on the fast turf of BC Place behind the Lions O-line.Should be fun.

Great explanation, candog. It DOES seem that Winnipeg has been holding Chuck down the last several years. Maybe BC will allow him to return kicks again as well.

He scored a TD in his first action last Saturday in a win against the Riders.Roberts returned kicks as well.He looked pretty good in his first action with BC.
