he didnt play in OT at davidson and had ice on his foot on the bench. i hope he is not gonna miss any games.

Misssoulian reporting Cherry will need an x-ray and that Ward hurt his foot and maybe out next week. They are in Bozeman then Cedar City next week; so there may be a chance for that top seed in tourney.

So.......you originally thought there wasn't a chance for you to host?

With Cherry and Ward still healthy, no. Our slip up at MSU doomed us. Not to say we couldn't beat Montana in Missoula in the tourney. I still think Weber has the team to run the table, no matter where it is hosted this year, even with a fully healthy Montana lineup. The Griz injuries only increase our possibility of getting to win it all on our home floor. :-D

Seems that the thought is that Will Cherry did indeed re-break the foot. Terrible news for him and the Grizzlies. He is a good kid, hate to see his college career end like this.

cherry did not break his foot. he has been ruled out for the regular season and doubtful for anything else. :wall: ward will be back after the road trip for senior night and post season. weber gets their chance. does Montana slip up? Montana's 2 seniors are out. this team is the 2013-14 griz team that will be on the court. I think we slip up to be honest vs msu. but I think you might too. if not idk the tiebreakers

wow, just 2 players gone from both of our teams for next yr. interesting....

mtgriz, we've felt your pain. When starters Bullinger and Otis both went down with injuries early in the season last year, and in 2010-11 when Lillard broke his foot.....Takes a major gut-check to see if the other players can step up and fill the void. It is tought for the Griz since it happened so late in the season.

Never want to hear of a player getting hurt.

NEXT YEAR WILL BE AN INTERESTING AND FUN YEAR TO WATCH. HONESTLY, I THOUGHT THAT MONTANA WOULD HAVE ROLLED THRU THE SKY THIS YEAR AND WEBER WOULDN'T BE THAT GOOD... THANK HEAVENS I WAS WRONG. IT'S BEEN FUN WATCHING BOTH THE GRIZ AND WILDCATS MATURE TOGETHER AND PLAY AS A TEAM.
WOULD'VE BEEN FUN TO WATCH LILLARD AND CHERRY GO AT IT THIS YEAR, BUT WE ALL KNOW WHERE LILLARD IS... ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!! YEE UH! (WELL ALMOST) :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

At least he didnt break his foot, that is the good side of it. The bad side of it is it happened so late and during his senior season. It's a real shame, heck of a player.

Well even if he can't play again this season, since his foot isn't broken, then he might be ready to go for the NBA evaluations and combines. That'll be good for him.

I think Cherry is done, This isnt the kind of stuff you mess with. He thinks something is wrong, that's scary stuff. I'd be suprised if he played again

It's too bad, he is a good player and it's a shame that it happened so late in his senior year.

Ward might be back by time Montana hosts Sac State. But this is a crucial time for the rest of the UM team, they need to step up big time.

I really dont think Montana can beat us without Cherry and Ward, even in Missoula.

Up to him. If it is going to affect his future career and any NBA aspirations then he needs to really think it over. He has a chance, even though slight, to make the NBA.

Ward will be able to play? I don't think he will be anywhere close to 100%, but it will be good for him to finish out his Sr. season.

Will Cherry have a legitimate chance to play professionally (Europe, D-League, NBA)?
I agree with N.ogdencat and doubt he would take the chance to aggravate his injury if he has a chance to play professionally (IMO).

Even if the bone isn't broken, being on cruches is never a good sign. If he plays, and the bone is weakened, it could finish off the break. If I were him, and knowing I have a chance to play professionally, I wouldn't chance it.
