CIT Bracket for 2012

Also read that games will be streamed via America One broadcasting, the site that B2TV is connected with....Not sure if there will be a charge to view ( expect it!)
There are 3-4 games listed for Tuesday from the tournament. I would guess it will be akin to our regulare season games, with the Finals being on Fox Sports.

so does this mean we will play the winner of Toledo and McNeese st in the second round? I thought future rounds were again decided by proximity (among other factors) and there wans't a true bracket to follow.

Not sure how they are ranked, other than reference to NIT rules that re-seeds after rounds? Not sure how exactly that will work

also is it me or does it seem like we could have home games throughout the whole tourny as long as we win. Is there an official place for the championship game, or could we potentially host the championship game? Does anyone know?

Note: The fourth annual CIT will once again use the old NIT model in which matchups in future rounds are determined by the results of the previous round.

I think we will be hosting more then one round if we win. I wish I could be there for the game but I will be out of town on Tuesday. Hopefully they can win and host more games when I get back.

"All games will be played on campus sites"

"First-round games, March 13-15
Second-round games, March 16-18
Quarterfinals, March 20-21
Semifinal games, March 23-24
Championship game, March 28"

"the CIT Championship game will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports "

I am excited to see atleast one more home game but the CIT, overlooked by the NIT and CBI, that is a kick in the nuts. WSU needs to make a huge statement in this tournament.

We probably told the CBI to Eff off this year, and rightfully so.

According to wikipedia, the CIT format is thus - RPI, strength of schedule, conference ranking and geographic location will determine seeding of the remaining teams.

We have the best record and the highest RPI in the field, if we continue to win, there is no reason we cant have homecourt throughout.

1. Weber State- 70
2. Buffalo- 77
3. Robert Morris- 99
4. Old Dominion- 102
5. Yale- 104
6. Tennessee State- 107
7. Kent State- 108
8. Fairfield- 115
9. Loyola Marymount- 118
10. UC Santa Barbera- 119
11. Indiana State- 129
12. Mercer- 132
13. Drake- 133
14. Tennessee Tech- 138
15. Oakland- 139
16. South Carolina Upstate- 140
17. Georgia State- 141
18. American- 142
19. Utah State- 144
20. Idaho- 146
21. Manhattan- 149
22. Cal State Fullerton- 157
23. Bowling Green- 159
24. Rice- 171
25. Mcneese State- 174
26. Coastal Carolina- 183
27. Louisiana Lafayette- 185
28. Cal State Bakersfield- 213
29. Albany- 215
30. Utah Valley- 230
31. North Dakota- 242
32. Toledo- 247

I didnt bother to look at any others, but for a tournament that is about RPI and crap, anybody else find it strange that 77 RPI Buffalo is playing at 142 RPI American?

as of early Mon, 5 of the CIT games are listed on B2TV/America One, under Teams, then the CIT post season tournament. They may add others today. My guess is there is a charge for this event?

This morning's DesNews says $10 for adults $5 for students under 17 and $5 for WSU students.

At these prices this is real opportunity to show that basketball is alive and well in Ogden. We have a home game in a post-season tournament. It's important that we have a big turnout!

it says the 2nd round games will be decided after the first round is over so looks like their is no official bracket.

i would guess or assume/think that upon a win we would get the winner of bakersfield/utah state or even idaho/santa barabara.

so how bout we win this game vs uvu?

usu back to the dee for the second time in one season? that is something i would like to see and would make it worth being in the CIT over NIT. santa barbara vs weber also would be fun as lillard's cousin is on that team and former wsu star, robbie johnson's younger bro as well.

this could be a fun tourney if we show up.

i guess we should keep in mind though that if we were to play usu in round 2 it could be in logan. hosting schools in these games will be decided on which will sale more tkts bring in more money. maybe we can play usu later in the tourney assuming we both can win some games. :thumb:

This from Roy Burton: "There are six rounds in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, which is bracketed regionally and played at on-campus sites. First-round CIT games will be played Tuesday through Thursday; the second round is Friday through Sunday, with the top four remaining seeds receiving byes to the quarterfinals March 20-21."

Anyone know if that's accurate? If it is that would mean potentially only four games instead of five.

Why wouldn't it be accurate? I'm sure it is..

If this tournament wants to have any credibility with me they better make it so the team with the higher RPI in the next rounds gets to host, I do not want to see a 24-6 RPI 70 Weber State team have to play at a 17-15 RPI 144 Utah State in the next round just because USU has a higher attendance average.

In all actuallity, if Weber continues to win, we deserve the most out of everybody else in the CIT to host a home game.

i wonder if any of those schools compare to weber or usu in attendance?

our average was almost 7,000 and i imagine usu averaged 8 or 9k?
