He has a nasty back injury. I guess he's had it all season, but now it's particulary bad so he missed the last few games of the year. And no, he's not going on a mission. He already went on one and came back early. Not sure why.wsucatfan said:hawkssb04 said:Also, I'm concerned about Hinds' health. Let's see if he comes back next season at full strength if at all.
I assumed he was injured, but I never hear anything, what was his injury, and is he going on a mission?

Nice article on Tuckett.
It'll be interesting to see who the Cats have coming back once the coaching issue is resolved. I have a feeling that the majority of guys will be back.
I guess the big secret is out and should of been playing all season just sayingSWeberCat02 said:Dude should have been starting all year.

I think that if Eck comes back, we'll get more players back...just a thought

You might be on to something...
But...you never know, bringing in a completely new face to the program could be extremely beneficial to the program. New ideas could be a good thing.
Yet, to be honest, Eck, in my opinion, would be the best bet; as long as he gets a new DC and replaces a handful of other coaches. You've got a coach who knows the players, program, and area. Someone who understands how to keep this program moving forward, and can help the team get over that hump.
Mac brought Weber soooo far, now its time to get a coach who can put Weber in the position to take them even farther! Go Wildcats!!
Waldo said:How have retreads worked out? Meaning coaches who at one time coached at higher levels of football and then were later hired by lower levels of football. A few come to mind:
Jerry Glanville (NFL to Portland State) - epic fail
June Jones (NFL to Hawaii) - Success and then struggled
Mac (Utah to Weber) - Success
Pete Carroll (NFL - USC - NFL). Success everywhere he goes (as long as Reggie Bush doesn't cheat).
I am sure there are more, so a retread may work or it may fail.
John L. Smith was a success at Idaho, then Utah State, then at Louisville, and then struggled at Michigan State (Peter Principle IMO). If he has the fire and the humility to coach at the FCS level, we could do much worse.
Eck would be very good as well.
I have no inside information - just conjecture.
