PURPLEFORLIFE said:The last crompton ad tried to destroy Weber bball with farmer. This one might succeed with Duft. Terrible move
Coach Crompton is not some pantywaist. The guy knows how to run a program and is doing his best as the AD. With Coach Rahe announcing his retirement now, there isn't a whole lot that he could do. Duft had to be the next guy. It is mid-May. I just hope the contract is for a year with an option to extend. That Duft is really just an interim guy until he proves he can truly take over the reigns. Honestly, Eric Duft would not have been my next choice. I think he is a good guy with a lot of passion, but from what I have heard he isn't someone who truly inspires players. I really hope I'm wrong. He is the guy who was chosen. I hope he does well. Weber State Basketball is what it is because of the assistants who took over after a successful coach left. Johnson, Visscher, McCarthy, and Cravens all had been assistants for great Wildcat coaches and then ended up being, in some cases, exceptionally more successful in their own right. We can only hope that the tradition continues with Duft.
