Coach Sperbeck Replies!

It's a good option IF Coach Sperbeck doesn't let it slide due to increased focus on the gameplan as the season progresses. It may be the ONLY option we have. But I STILL think attending the Coaches Luncheon is better IF we can get someone to go.

I realize that's a lot of ifs. But with email, we're dependent upon Coach Sperbeck's schedule. That's all I was saying.

BTW, thanks to SHA for the tip on where they're doing it now. Fresh Choice is a MUCH better place than that defense room. We went to Fresh Choice on the Cow Poly trip the year I went down. One of the nicest restaurants around.

It's no wonder why the school has trouble recruiting when one of the nicest restaurants is Fresh Choice.

Its because they are a corporate partner and its and equal B-2-B deal....not hard to figure that one out

I was not questioning why they would choose Fresh Choice. I was questioning why someone would refer to Fresh Choice as one of the nicest restaurants around.

I don't know what the issue with Fresh Choice is. While I was with the team, Fresh Choice always treated us well, and the food was really good. Certainly better than the two burgers we got from BK after games.

hahaha, no offense, but I also did a double take when I saw Fresh Choice being touted as one of the "nicest restaurants around".

With all the really nice restaurants popping up all over downtown Sac, you're telling me fans wouldn't rather do it at one of those places like McCormick and Schmicks?

Superhornet,

In all seriousness and respectfullness, please tell us what role you had on the team. Years? Position? scholarship? walkon? Because I do see you represent yourself as a UOP Tiger too. Confused in Sacramento.

Im down with Mick and Schmicks or Ruth's Chris :D

For SacRat: I spent 1995 as the 6th string QB at UOP. After UOP gave up the program, I went to Delta, where I was screwed by the AD; the coach made it up to me by granting me academic credit as the team filmer for the 1996 season. That boded well when I got to Sac, where I reported to Angus as the practice filmer when 'Stick wanted nothing to do with me as a QB. I was with Sac 1997-99. In all situations, I was a walkon.

For Phantom: Never heard of those restaurants. Are they new since '99?

Technically then, with all due respect, you were never a football player. You were, in essence, a team manager then. I have never heard of a school that has six qb's...

Hey, GCM. What's up with that smack? We DID have one of the six QBs drafted.

Besides, it sounds like you're assuming that all six QBs were on schollie. I've already stated that I was a walk-on. We had one other that came as a walk-on and played his way into a schollie. (He walked away from a schollie at Idaho to do that and was one of our two fifth-year senior QBs. Later, he was the policy director for the governor of Alabama.)

As far as other positions go, we had a few go to the NFL/AFL/CFL. Not bad for a small program.

Mismanagement of finances? No.

Cr@zy scheduling? Yes.

Just like at Sac, the faculty was out to get the program since at least the mid-'80s. We did all right given the resources we were. The AD set us up for failure with the suicide schedule that featured Fresneck, Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon, and Oregon State in the first five games. Suicide to support the rest of the program is mismanagement? I think not.

Downtown Sac has changed A LOT since 99. A ton of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. I'm not making this up, but Sac is the hottest new restaurant scene in California....http://www.insidebayarea.com/ci_9443487

It was not meant as smack.

That's great to hear, Phantom. Howe between J and Arden was one of my least favorite sections of town as it seemed all they had was that cheap, ugly apartment building that advertised it's price on it's bogus marquee and a River City Bank. Nothing decent until one gets off the bus at or near Howe 'Bout Arden.
