Coaches Luncheon (Change of Venue)

i dont think the lunch will necessarily be less successful by the move. if ligoris got disrespected i dont think anyone will know this.

1. also, how do we know who is to blame for the move that has fans diapproving?

2. was it the AD that told the wclub to move it?

3. who on the wclub would be responsible for making this decision?

4. does ligoris no yet that we wont be there on monday?


i think the oldies will all still go but i also wonder if some people will be showing up to ligoris on monday :P

I was previously on the board. During my time on the board there was talk of the lunches being moved, but most of us voted NO. We were able to kill the idea for about 2 years. They wanted to move it because the venue was not that great. The crowd had to be split between the two rooms, the people in the "overflow" could not see the coach, and etc. That has all been fixed by Ligori's at the new location. They designed the new place with the Coaches lunches in mind. IMO Becky has a number of people on the board that will go along with whatever she says. I have felt for a couple of years that she wants to do away with the coaches lunches. I feel that Becky cares more for the people that donate large sums and has done a number of things to ignore the smaller donors. Remember, these last few points are my opinion and not a proven fact. :roll:

We need to give Bovee some more time. After this year, we will see what type of AD he is. He was getting himself in place this past year. He has some good ideas, lets just give him some time to see how they work. Granted, he has to work against the established lethargy living in the athletic department (as stated previously in this thread Larry, Moe, and Curly), which makes his job HELL.

who are the board members of the wclub? do you have a list? did they vote on the change?
 
You can find the list of board members at weberstatesports.com then go to Wildcatclub and go to board. I know that this has not been updated. The new president of the board started on July 1st and it is not Mike Gale. I know that some of the terms of board members has expired and new ones have been elected to take their place. The list of new people has not been posted.
 
I haven't heard anything about this other than this forum but I would assume there must have been some conflict between the Wildcat Club and Ligori's Pizzeria. I have never been to Ligori's. Is there a problem with the food?
 
This move is just another way of showing the $50 Wildcat Club members that they don't mean jack shit. They need to start a new club, one that actually welcomes the $50 members and treats everybody the same. This move is just another "Screw You" to us good old Joe 6packs.
I hope you all enjoy your wine and cheese at the luncheon today while I am eating my Combo pizza at Ligori's and only paying half the price and getting way better food.

I am not sure if that is it son; the buzz around town from what I have heard is that there was some type of disagreement between the Wildcat Club board or director and Ligori’s. I am optimistic Ligori’s will continue as a welcoming Weber eatery like it was for the past few decades.
 
Mike, the food at Ligori's has noooo problems. I have heard a lot of people say they enjoy the food at Ligori's. I have never heard anyone say that about the food at the OGCC. :evil:
1964, I have not heard of the disagreement between the WCC and Ligori's. I would like to hear more about it.
 
they wanted the downtown people to be able to go was the latest. someone update us about the luncheon on here about how it goes and what mac says more importantly. i won't be able to make it this week, not that i was ever able to go every week.

Don't count on me for news from the lunches this year, I WONT be going at all.
 
I may make it to ONE luncheon, however, there were many times in the past that I would bring a guest with me to the lunches. Now if I take a guest it will cost me at least $25 for lunch where in the past it was 12.50. OUCH!!! At the new location, I will have to pay the $15 non-member fee for any guests that I bring, and we are supposed to RSVP before attending. Many times I do not know if I am going to be able to attend, or if I am going to have a guest with me. :evil:
