Coaches Show

Per SacStateSports, the coaches TV show will air this Thursday at 7 pm on Comcast hometown network, channel 104.
Plenty of news came out of the luncheon including the announcement that Sperbeck’s coaches televised show will air for the first time this Thursday at 7 p.m. on Comcast hometown newtork, channel 104 on most of the cable carrier’s systems. The show was to make its debut last Thursday but a few technical hiccups delayed it a week. Sperbeck and Hornet radio color analyst Jason Ross taped the show this morning on campus. This is in addition to the weekly radio spot Sperbeck does on KFBK 1530 each Thursdays at 6:40 p.m.

I hope this will be available online somewhere. Also I was unaware of a coaches radio show. Anyone know if this is available online as well? :?:

So who plans on watching this?

K, you might have to get ghetto with it and point your camcorder at a TV so people like me can see the show.

Hornet Football Fans!!!

The Xfinity Hornet Football Weekly, hosted by Jason Ross and Sacramento State head football coach Marshall Sperbeck, will debut on Comcast Hometown Network (channel 104 on Comcast Sacramento) at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29. The show will re-air on Saturday, Oct. 1 at noon. The show will air each week throughout the football season.

Xfinity Hornet Football Weekly is produced in the Sacramento State Academic Technology and Creative Services studio. Michaeline Veden is the executive producer.

Paramount Equity Mortgage is the sponsor of the Player of the Week segment.

Thanks and Go Hornets!!

I have dish, but pay extra for the Comcast Sports CA and Bay Area channels. I went through the guide this morning to make sure I could DVR the show too and possibly upload it somehow, but it wasn't on the schedule for tonight. Our timeslot had the Cal Football Report show...

hmmmm

K, it's on the Comcast Hometown Network, not CSNBA or CSNCA. CHN usually shows Stockton Ports games. This is a strictly "you have to have Comcast cable" type of channel.

I hate comcast.

Thought I read somewhere that there was a problem with the HD feed from where the show is broadcast, so it can't be shown on CSNBA. That's why there was a delay while they figured out what to do. So they put it on CHN instead. It doesn't require HD. If I find the article again, I will post.

Interesting article on the State Hornet about why the coaches’ show was delayed (and as I feared almost cancelled).

The Sacramento State coaches' show on Comcast SportsNet California was nearly scrubbed before its debut, and the setback was because of difficulties in the campus library.

The show was announced at the Quarterback Club luncheon that takes place every Monday at El Patron Bar and Grill. It was reported to debut on Sept. 22, but problems with airing it in high definition put the show in jeopardy.

The reason for the problem is that the show airs in the Sac State library studios and they are not HD equipped. This HD problem is why the show missed its airing and CSN-California backed out.

A few days later, Comcast Hometown Network entered the picture and took over for CSN-California according to Hornet media relations.

CHN is a local regional cable network produced by Comcast. It is available in the San Francisco Bay Area and Central California.

If anyone is worried about the channel switch fear not, I actually think this is a huge boon. Apparently the CHN channel shows a lot of HS football. More importantly, the Sac State show will air right before a weekly HS sports show. Here’s to hoping some of those HS student-athletes tune in a little early and see some of the coaches show. If this show sticks, I think this will be a huge boon for recruiting.

I'm going to send CHN an email asking if this show will be streamed online as well. Hopefully it is.

Good to know they've gotten past the issues. A generic "technical difficulties" reasoning seemed a little fishy at first, particularly as Sac had just come off a couple big losses. http://sacstatesports.com/2011/09/21/sperbeck-coaches-show-on-hold-indefinitely

The show is definitely a move in the right direction for the program. Personally, I hope they keep it interesting. Sperbeck often comes off a little flat to me in interviews.

Yes, and it was pretty darn good. My wife did a double take when she did not see the extra-long HDMI cord leading from the PC. She said, "It’s on TV?"

It was insightful to hear Coach Sperbeck talk about the last four games. Jeff Fleming also talked about what he was thinking during the games and being a Geography major.

Jason Ross was the host. Ross did a good job and asked good questions. I like Ross. Ross represents Sac State Football really well. Recently, Ross filled in for the whinny Grant Napier on 1140 AM. Ross did a good, objective job talking about local college football. He even challenged listeners to call in and explain why they are attending Mountain Lion games and not Sac State games.

I am going to watch it again tonight and one more time before the game.

Go Hornets!!!

Why do we care what that redheaded toolbox thinks about Sac State Football? I hope the Kings leave and that dude disappears.

 The Kings do not need to go away. Just Napier......Or maybe the Maloofs and then Napier will follow because he's stuck so far up their a$$ he would have to.

They are on their last shot at getting a new arena deal locked down. If it falls through the Kings are gone.

Anyone planning on watching the coaches show tonight?

I haven’t heard anything back from the CHN channel about availability of seeing the show online so I think I got my answer. :(

From the Hornet Football Facebook page:
