Coaching change plus academics

eagfan,
Checked on Campus today eference personnel leaving BB Team. According to personnel we will lose another Player, for a total of 4, however, unable to get the name. Was told it is cinfidential. :x :o

The only person that haven't been at practice is Tremayne Johnson, he is in California. I wouldn't read much into this. :twocents:

The FB Team is getting ready to go to WSU and kick their BUTT in 7 & 7, Matt Johnson will be THE BIG Coach for the game. I think it might be this weekend, not positive. Go Eagles Vic Wallace

BTW
EdubAlum,
Your little Angel I remembered when she was here with you your family and friends, for the Playoff Games, she kept looking at me, as if to say "Hi Bro" ;) She must have known we are both September Birthdays. :thumb: Be 8-) Vic

Hope everyone had a graet 4th! I came up to hang with some of my bros on campus for the lnog weekend. I passed out in my car (long story) and woke up on the 5th to the football team practicing on the RED... at 7am! Even in a cloudy haze... I was thinking... REPEAT!! Just hope Beau doesn't leave before I graduate! Love that dude.

Ran into some of my boys on the bball team. They told me that Geoffrey Allen is the player that isn't coming back. The only thing the players were saying is that Hayford had said there were too many guards here at the 2-3. My guys all really liked the kid from St. Josephs adn said he can hoop!According to my sources, in two years, we'll all be saying... Glen who?? This kid will make Glen Dean look like Jimmy Dean. THink about it: In two years... St. Joes kid at the 1, I really like Hankins at the 2 then, Forbes, Winford, Collin from San Fran and the kid from Oregon... plus all the guys returning. I'm getting fired up!!!

Sorry to hear about the Allen kid. Thought he had some good potential and was not a problem student or player. Interesting decision by Coach. I'm not ready to throw Dean under the bus. If he had stayed the same people that are ripping him would be praising him. He is either good or he isn't. I think he was good here and he will be good at Utah. I hope the kid from St. Joes is good. Am worried about his shooting based upon stats on another post in this forum. A year off will help him. He was available for a long time and has fallen far from Big East aspirations to A-10 reserve to the middle of nowhere here. Say what you want about Dean but he is moving up in competition and the new guard is moving down. If these two were your son's, which would you be most proud? Can't wait to see the new team on the floor. Should be a great season!

eagle1900, eagfan,
Jeffery Allen was in Reese Court yesterday watching some of the players run the steps, watch them work out after the steps. He still has his right arm in a sling. Coach did say had surgery, and he wouldn't be playing this year. Thanks for the input of him not returning. He is an outstanding young man. I met him and his mom when he came here on his visit to EWU. I am sure he will get an opportunit to play for someone else in the future once his arm heals. "Good Luck Jeff Allen." Go Eagles!!!!! Vic

Allen is a good kid that deserved better than being asked to leave due to his injury. Coach didn't want to waste a scholarship on an injured player. It says a lot about a player that he was there watching his soon to be former team mates run steps. I wish him well too.

If indeed Allen was cut loose due to an injury, that is very disappointing to me. It simply does not seem like the "right" thing to do - taking a kid's scholarship because he got hurt. For all of the people on this site who trashed Glen Dean for making a decision that he felt was in his best interest, I hope you understand that it works both ways. And Coach Hayford has absolutely no right to be mad at Dean given that he took scholarships away from three guys (Allen, McRae, Warnock).
