Whether right or wrong, everyone on here is entitled to their opinion and free speech, as long as they are not harassing or demeaning others because of race, gender or age. Feel free to speak your mind; if you disagree with someone, let them know (in a civil manner) by either sending them a private message or posting in the forum. There's no need for bannings, except for spammers and the rare occasion where an individual ceases to cool down. :twocents:

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and subject to extreme ridicule of said opinions.

Now SE174, kindly screw off - honky ass, 20 something, dude. :coffee:

IMHO, the hands off approach is best. When people are out of line, the more well-reasoned posters will call them out on it. And if people are offended and don't like what they are reading they can ignore certain discussions. This is how the board self-corrects. Forums are way less entertaining when they are micro-managed.

Here's a snippet from cs.com about its differences with the AnyGivenSaturday fcs message board:

What you said about free and open exchange of ideas is what I believe in. It is also what Chris believes in because he has not put a stop to it. The thing is that AGS is a site that has a different niche to fill than this one does. This site was needed for those of us that don't mind a little blood spill when the rough housing starts.

EdubAlum,
This is off the subject: You are going to  at me. I am still learning this Computer System. I kept seeing the Red 1 message in my inbox PM. I finally opened it, and found out you inquired if I were coming to the Montana Tailgate, along with kalm,Observer? Better laate than ever :thumb:
I am happy you did not pm telling me I had won millions, I would have been late to collect. :dunce:

Anyway, we did meet, and was worth it to have met you, your wife, little new born, and some of your friends. Excuse me for being late. I am still learning this computer stuff, as my daughter Chris would have said "Computer Dummy" with a big :). I got into the computer, after my wife died, but still haven't learned much  . Still nothing about the new MBB Coach, hope it is soon. Take care. Vic

I went back and watched the tapes on CMC. He is going to be a great player at EWU. Red, Blue or Black it doesn't matter. CMC plays down hill to the ball. He show great reactive skills and reads on the hike of the ball. I am betting he plays and plays often as a Freshman. Red, Blue or Black CMC comes to play and he will.
The big schools missed CMC. He will be another great piece to our National Championship Defense.

Who else offered? Did Idaho?
BK's McCarthy chooses to play football for FCS national champ Eastern Washington
Submitted by jzentz on Tue, 02/01/2011 - 4:41pm.
Bishop Kelly senior Cody McCarthy has verbally committed to play football for the reigning FCS national champion Eastern Washington Eagles.

McCarthy, the Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year and 4A All-Idaho Player of the Year, announced his decision Monday afternoon on his Facebook page. He considered walking on at Boise State and turned down offers from Army, Idaho and Idaho State.

"It's a place where I can step in and make a difference right away, play early, for a good team," McCarthy said. "They had what I wanted to do in school, physical therapy, and I really liked it up there. It's the right place for me."

McCarthy said he was recruited to play linebacker and some fullback at Eastern Washington, just like he did at BK.

The 6-foot-1, 226-pounder led the Knights to a 12-0 record during his senior season, which was capped by a 41-28 victory against Blackfoot in the 4A state final at Bronco Stadium on Nov. 20.

The two-time 4A Southern Idaho Conference defensive player of the year finished his senior season with 177 total tackles — including 10 sacks and 20 tackles for a loss. McCarthy also forced nine fumbles and intercepted four passes, rushed for 603 yards and seven touchdowns on 93 carries and caught 11 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns.

"It's a good feeling having this decision behind me," McCarthy said. "It's kind of sad, because it's all over, but now I can move on."

Eastern Washington defeated Delaware 20-19 in the FCS national championship game on Jan. 7.

McCarthy will sign a national letter of intent Wednesday

Wow, didn't realize I'd be opening up a can of worms when I started this thread. I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion and personally I wouldn't want to see the board go down the road of bannings, etc. unless what's posted is really inflammatory. I didn't find what VM posted particularly out of line, although I will suggest that it might have been a little short-sighted. I also don't understand what being located in the Pacific Northwest has to do with what we're talking about. Minus some of the more rural areas, Washington is just as culturally diverse as any of the western states.

That said, I don't give a shit who the kid played against. To me it's sort of irrelevant whether he played at a 2A, 5A, or a school with 100 students in the middle of BFE. Remember that we've had some pretty darn good football players over the years that have come from tiny schools and massive ones alike. IMHO the kid's a football player, period, and anyone that's watched his film could see that. I'm not anointing him the next Buchanan winner or anything like that, but something tells me that Peach and Sherritt didn't play in High School leagues with a whole lot of cultural diversity - and I'm not sure anyone can argue the talent of either one of them or the impact they had on EWU and FCS football. To me, leadership and work ethic are the most important factors at this level, and from all acounts McCarthy has both of those and a ton of athletic ability to boot. Time will tell, but I really like what I've seen so far.

And not that it matters, but just as a friendly caviat - there's plenty of kids of color in the video - go back and watch it again.
