cold preparations

A few years ago Coastal Carolina went into Msla during playoffs in very cold conditions and whipped the Griz partially due to better preparation. The Griz players thought Montana boys are tough and don't need to dress right and the Chanticleers stocked up on under garments that kept exposed skin covered. As I recall they also had warm drinks of some sort on the sidelines to keep core temps up. Was it chicken soup? Anybody else remember that?

Just checked the forecast and we go from a low of 5 Friday night to a high of 26 Saturday with snow forecasted both during the day and Saturday night. What that usually means is the high pressure dome that will bring the arctic air into the region mid week will be run over the top by some warmer and moist Pacific air which means a decent chance of heavy snow on Saturday depending on the timing of the front.

Stay tuned!

I don't know where you saw this but it sounds a lot more pleasant than the single digits being forecasted right now.

Just checked out the temp and precipitation forecast on NOAA. The rest is 45 years of experience living here and depending on weather.

Check that. Just looked at it again and it's now a little snow on Thursday but Saturday is a high of 14 and sunny.

I bow to your meteorological wisdom, sir. I don't know if anything you said is scientifically accurate, but it sure does sound good!

Kind of makes you wonder, does EWU have to provide them with a certian number to heaters, etc??
I know the importants of keeping hands and feet warm, once they get cold they are tough to thaw out.

Eastern can't have anything on their sideline that they don't provide for the visitor.

I am aware of that rule as it applies to equipment but don't know that it applies to other items.

clawman,
I taught I was dressed warm for the last game. Remember you spoke with me.
after all the Foot Warmers got cold I got very, my Toes got very cold. The Foot Warmers are good for 5 hours. I think we should be on TV, I will be out there, but will remain in my truck and listen to the game against YSU. I sat in my truck for the 2nd half and listen to the game. Be Prepared. Team practice yesterday after the Women Game with GU. Vic Wallace

LDopaPDX,
I did notice on Saturday Game, we had about 4 Heaters, and the other had two that I could see from the stands. I don't know how many they are supposed to have. I am glad they did had some Heaters for both Teams. Vic Wallace

i remember an overconfident fan base and a team that got their assed whipped but dont remember the specifics.
7 point loss and a very controversial review. Pass completed to the 17, chains moved, ball spotted. Jordan Canada run to the 3, chains moved, ball spotted, followed by an official timeout for a review of the previous, previous play (pass to the 17).

Yeah, I remember it being a close game with an absolutely untimely call for review after a successful play. That was the first time I'd see that, and that it was total BS. But since then, I've seen it fairly regularly. Kindof throttles that, "hurry up and get the play off" mentality back a little.

I just think people remember it differently than being a close game because Coastal seemed to have the momentum almost that entire game, and the Griz were just fighting an uphill battle. And that certainly wasn't the expectation most had of how the game would play out.

From e-griz-
Yeah, the high was 5 I believe. They brought warm clothes that they all wore, sideline coats, etc. I believe they were drinking warm chicken broth and had a warm change of clothes for the second half too. The Griz were playing the macho card and came out in short sleeves, said the cold wouldn't affect them, etc. The Coastal Carolina team accepted the fact that 5 degree weather would affect their athletic performance, and planned accordingly. Bad decision on the Griz part. Your body doesn't function well in 5 degrees in a t-shirt. I believe they're coach did all the research and bought the extra cold weather gear himself, smart move.

There's an even better post in that thread, the low that day was 6F... Now suddenly griz fans remember it being -35F, talk about delusional.

So we know it was cold, but the real question is- was it loud?

Excellent. Simply excellent.

FWIW, 6 Fahrenheit is really damn cold. Kick up a little wind, and you're talking brutal cold.
