The last time we played this D11 team, they gave us a very competitive game. They have been one of the better D11s in the area. I looked up their roster to see how they might match up with us. They have one 6'9'' guy and a few in the 6'7'' range. Size wise, they are close. They have a ton of transfers who have little history to go on. They are loaded with guards who are similarly sized to ours.

Not a lot to go on, but it should be an interesting exhibition game. Free to the public. We will get a look at all the new guys.

Thanks for the update. It is really sad, but I have very little interest in Weber State Men's Basketball. As my grandfather would say, this program is lower than a snakes backside. I hope the kids excel, have injury free season and build life long relationships. They deserve it after practicing virtually nonstop for six months.

Not sure your definition of competitive game but the last time we played Colorado Christian we won 97-73. This team is not good. I have to backtrack my prediction of this team, they very well could finish 9th. If we consider beating that team by 3 as a good win then we have completely fallen off. This program is nothing now and it doesn’t help with long time fans making excuses. I understand a lot of young/new players but it’s happening to every program and yet we are behind? With all our resources?

I don't know all of the whys, but we certainly looked a bit tired and CCU looked fresh and energised. I don't remeber too many games where we missed so many layups and we were not even in the same zip code on our threes. If it wasn't just a matter of being tired, then we may be in for a long season. It's one game, and an exhibition to boot, so the book is still out. Not a good start, but not ready to throw in the towl just yet.

I have heard from everyone that Duft would have to get results (basically win the conference) this year for the mind-boggling extension last year or he won’t see the full three years—I highly doubt it. This was just more of keeping the gravy train going for underperforming coaches and an AD who doesn’t want to fire anyone. Weber State is picked ninth and struggled to beat a D2 team. The fact the University is totally fine with this with the once proud basketball program is most depressing. Money can’t fix the issues with current coaches and their recruiting…but such is life now at Ennui-ber State. Let’s close out with the (No) Fight Song.

“Ennui-ber State, Ennui-ber State…Meh, Meh, Meh”😒

Two things:

WEBER SHOT 32 FREEBIES to CCU's 7. To me, this is a loss. Without the friendly support of the refs. Weber probably losses that game by 10.

NEXT, over practicing has hurt this team. I only watched some videos, but I agree with Chex, they looked slow and tired (like it was late January, and they were playing on a Monday. A third game in six days type of deal). It was the first game of the season!! Practicing like you were in the middle of the season in July for 3 hours a day was not such a smart move.

Final thought...DI wins only. Monday's game does not count in the standings.
