Colorado State Predictions

Rams 24, Hornets 10

The Rams are looking to beat up on someone after last week, they may run up the score if they get a chance.

Hornets 27, Rams 0.

That said, this game by all accounts was banked as a L before the season started. A win would REALLY shake up the season, and even doing well in a loss could do wonders to push us over the .500 mark that many of us were looking at.

Go Hornets!!!

Go Hornets!!!

A Win puts us in the Top 25 and strikes fear into the hearts of all the BSC contenders.

And if we were ever to beat an FBS school, this would be our chance. New coach, lots of distractions, major player turnover on both sides of the ball for the Rams... You never know. Look what MSU did to CU two years ago...

Hornets - 20
Rams - 38

I'm admittedly more interested in this game than some past D1A opponents. Sac is catching CO State at a good time having come off a rival loss on Sun and in the first year of their new coach. I'm certainly encouraged by last Sat, but this will really be a test to see how far they've come since last year.

I wish I could be as optimistic as everyone else - I just don't see a close one. As bad as CSu looked against CU, their running game was still fairly solid and I think that dooms Sac. Also, I'm just not sure Sac has enough play makers to put any substantial points on the board. I'm rooting for Sac in a big way, but:

CSU 38
Sac 10

They will have other days (but man I hope I'm wrong!)

Kadeezy: Sac already has at least TWO wins against I-A programs. (At least, they were I-A at the time; they're I-AAA now, unfortunately.)

But for the more "modern" era, you may well be right, though one could make an argument that we would have a better shot by scheduling San Jose.

I'd love to see us win this one; but my brain has vetoed my heart's vote, so while I think we will be very competitive, we lose this one 31-24. I sure hope I'm wrong. :(

How many FBS wins do we have since we became FCS?

Exactly none, right?

Loses to UTEP, Oregon State, Nevada, CAL, Boise State, Fresno State, and New Mexico.

Prior to going FCS, our record with FBS teams were:

Loss 1972 Fresno State 24-17
Loss 1977 Louisiana 56-0
Nevada series record 9 Wins 17 Losses
UOP series record 2 Wins 7 Losses

On your other point, I doubt we get paid even 1/2 of what we get to go to Colorado State. That is why we go there rather than San Jose State. I'd like to see San Jose State come to our house. The attendance might be higher here! :D

We beat Pacific in 1988 and 1991 as well as Cal State Fullerton in 1992. They were both in the Big West then who played at the I-A level.

If we can score 14 or more and keep CSU to under 35, I will view the game as a positive. I'm looking for progress, not a miracle.

Yeah, I wrote that we played UOP 9 times and won 2, but didn't put in the years. Thanks for that. Forgot about Fullerton. Nice catch.
