This is kinda ridiculous...We get a new coach, and then, wam, the board dies. Come on folks, there has got to be some news with our team.

Is Smith in Ogden full-time now?

I am pretty sure the Hawaii players are all in tact, but have been hearing rumours about the team drug testing results that came back. Team meeting on 1-3-12 and should be very enlightening. Many of the guys are gonna find out that scholarships are renewable annually.....good luck.

Rumour has it that someone made a very generous, very very generous donation to the football program on or about the same day Coach Smith signed his contract. Money to go towards renovating the weight room ASAP, i heard it was to the tune of $500k that a 'friend' of Coach Smith's donated...anyone hear that also?
 
I have heard Coach Smith has released 3 players, and I don't know their names. I have also heard Smith has not been too active in hiring new staff, nor has he been active on the recruiting trail. As far as RM's - the Lewis kid who plays QB is the only one I know about.
 
Okay, so, I really hope that we get better and more information from Paul than we did from Brad. Yikes! I just found out that Max Moala plays for Utah. He had two stellar years for the Cats, went on a mission, and now, as a JR, is a Ute. And worse, he is paying his own way. All one can do is shake their head.

Why doesn't Weber do a better job of announcing signings, who is on missions, ect.

I know that there have been a couple of RM's sign LOIs and the athletic department has said nothing about it. Come on Paul, don't be Brad.
 
One of the best things to do to generate loyal fan support is the flow of information from the Athletic Department to the supporters (fans). There was much to be desired by the previous regime, and up to now Paul has been doing an awesome job getting info out, for example the website etc. I hope his hands are not being tied.....but now is the time to start banging the drums and get the natives restless......oh yeah
 
I've heard that Coach Smith talked about a JC Safety committing to the Cats over the weekend, and that he will be at school this week. Also, he said that Mac had already gotten 4 commitments.

Thanks for the info, keep it coming. i know that Coach Smith was introducing some of the staff at the coach's luncheon at the Marriott today, we'll wait and see :)
 
I have been interested in commitments also and since no one on this board seems to know too much about it, I looked on scout.com and found that a 6'1'' 175 lb WR form W. Jordan High has committed to Weber St. O.K., I've done my part. Does anyone else have any news?
 
Weber received a verbal from Braden Corpus, a QB out of Borah High School in Boise. Very good athlete who is strong as heck. Here are some highlights

Darn!! You beat me to it. :lol: I just barely found out. Great addition to the team. Welcome to Weber!! When did Braden come on his visit?

Also, Antonio Perez was scheduled to take a visit to Weber over the Weekend. He is a DT from the Sac area. He holds offers from Idahlol, Sac, Weber, and Army. He was pretty firm on signing with Idahlol, but that was before his visit to Weber. He still came on his visit. So, one never knows. Anyway, that is all I've got.
 
Can't mention any names, but make your plans to come to the signing day announcement party on Feb. 1 on the third floor of Stewart Stadium at 6 p.m. (pretty sure it's at 6, I'll double check that).

Nice! It's fun watching the highlight videos and it will be good to hear from the new coaches. Will there be wings from Wing-nutz again?
 
The young man reminds me of Riley Nielson, when he was at Logan High. Looks like he would be comfortable running a spread/option offence. BSU must have a bevy of QBs or they may have gone after him. Their loss is our gain. :nod:

Cody McKague a TE is visiting Weber this weekend. He played on the same team as Braden Corpus. GREAT Kid, wonderful motor and has a lot of upside. Here are some highlights.
