Commitments

Cody McKague gave his verbal to weber last night. YOu are getting a couple great kids in Cody and Braden. I just became a very big Wildcat fan!!

From what I saw on the highlight video, I'm loving it. Welcome to WSU fellas, it's going to be a great ride to the National championship!

Per the Sacramento Bee Prep Blog Weber State land Folsom (CA) OL Yuvraaj Madra:

Another season, another hearty collection of college-bound football talent for the Folsom Bulldogs.
Over the weekend, two linemen gave verbal commitments to further their academic and shoulder pad ways with Jordan Alleva headed to the University of San Diego, a Division I-AA power, and Yuvraaj Madra to Weber State of the Big Sky Conference, also a Division I-AA member.
Folsom coach Kris Richardson has raved about Alleva and Madra all season - as leaders, as players, as great finds for the programs they selected. Richardson said Alleva was his most physical, brawling linemen, as proud as he was tough.
On Madra, he said, "Great pass-protection skills. Athletic, good feet, long arms and a nasty streak. He has tremendous potential."

Thanks for the info slostang.

According to the Long Beach Press-Telegram we are competing with each other for Lakewood (CA) OL Derek Sabo (6'2" 270):

Derek Sabo, Lakewood, OL, 6-2, 270, Sr.: According to coach Vince Lobendahn, rare was the game where Sabo didn't handle his man on the other side of the ball. He was selected first-team All-Moore League and is deciding between Weber State and Cal Poly SLO.

Looks like we landed Sabo. Weber's class look good.

Looking forward to playing Weber more now that we are in the Big Sky. I have followed Weber State at a distance ever since Jamie Martin went there (Jamie is a from my high school, AG).

It's so weird that Weber lands so many recruits from right in Sac's backyard. Who's the recruiting coordinator for the Bees?

Cal Poly landed 4 from the Sacramento this year including a record setting QB who threw for over 5,100 and 49 TDs and rushed for 1,100 yards and 20 TDs this season. The kicker is his dad was a QB at Sac State. In fairness to Sac St he is only about 6 feet and fits Cal Poly's triple/spread option better than their Pro-style offense.

Looking forward to our future matchups with Cal Poly too, the only problem is our game vs you guys this year, which is most likely our homecoming game is the same weekend as opening Elk hunt here in Utah (yes I am a redneck) And I will most likely be going elk hunting that weekend. :|

Is our kicker CJ Santos still in Ogden? Saw this on a blog from Hawaii......

"Is it true that the kicker from Maui is returning to walk-on at Hawaii?"

I've heard that rumour about a handful of players. Kinda dumb to give up a Scholarship to pay for school. But if it is true, good luck to CJ. It would be nice playing closer to home and being somewhere without snow.
