Conference Play Starts, IDAHO STATE

Its that time of the year, Big Sky Conference play starts this week.

Our Wildcats begin thier Conf Season Thursday night in the Purple Palace against Rival ISU

The Bengals come into the game with a 2-9 record, and on a 4 game losing streak.

Weber comes in a 8-3 and on a two game winning streak.

Rivals clash on first BSC game for both teams.

Lets get this going baby, lets get after them Bengals and get a good start to the new Big Sky season

WEBER STATE WEBER STATE GREAT GREAT GREAT :notworthy:

We can't aford to take anyone lightly. Many teams come back with renewed vigor for the confrence games. You know, 'A new season' and all of that sort of stuff. All teams in the BSC are dangerous. Teams like ISU have nothing to lose. They already got their coach fired, they haven't beaten anybody, and the expectations are quite low. They can take a lot of risks and be OK with it. If they happen to get hot in a game or two, they can beat anyone in the BSC. It is best to take them very seriously, play them tough, and not let them think, for one second, that they can stay in a game with us. The same formula we used with the UUs.

I will say this, If we get a big lead, lets get our reserves in the game for longer periods of time. It can only help us down the road, when the starters might be getting a bit worn out and we will need to have our young guns playing with confidence. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

ISU did not fire its coach. There was no pressure on Joe to step down, although he likely would not have gotten a renewed contract at the end of the year. Joe resigned purely for personal reasons...which may have included wins and losses...but trust me...there are more important things in his life right now than winning basketball games.

let me rephrase that. "They worked so hard, and so eficiantly, that their coach is no longer with them." :wtf:

What is wrong with OB?

I agree. I've been trying to figure out for a few games now why Brown isn't getting more playing time. When he has played, his stats have been solid, although it took him a little while to settle into his shot. But less than two minutes in a game where you lead by 20-25 doesn't seem like a good way to have him playing with confidence.

Nice way to ease into conference play... WSU should win handily.
Agreed. If the Bengals are 12 points worse than that AWFUL Utah squad, it shouldn't even be a game. Expect 25 or so from Lillard and four or five Wildcats in double-digit scoring before the starters sit for the final seven or eight minutes.

If it turns into an early blowout, and I think it may, I hope the bench gets in often and for longer stretches. Also, the expectation, when they are in, should be that the build on the lead and play aggressively.

OB may have been a good guy and a knowegable coach. Either his players just didn't play for him or he was not a good judge of talent. The players either drove him out or got him released. It's all just semantics. :coffee:
