Congrats on a great win for your team and your program. Combination of your good team and fatigue really go to us. My thoughts and take on the game. Good luck...Win it!
Postgame Short and Sweet: Air Force 57 Weber St 78 Final game for our senior class of 2013 as the 2012-2013 season comes to a close. It was a season of more 'ups' than 'downs' and although we end with a loss to a very good Weber State team (that I predict will win the CIT), there is so much to be proud of and thankful for.
Not a game for us to dwell on. In my humble opinion, this was a game where we played a very good team and combined that with a travel schedule and fatigue that finally caught up with us. Timeline:
Tuesday: Depart USAFA and take two flights (no directs available) to Hawaii
Wednesday: Play and win over Hawaii with a late 11pm MDT tipoff
Thursday-Friday: Due to flight availability the staff and players split into three departures from Hawaii taking two flights each to Salt Lake City, with some players not arriving until Friday morning.
Saturday: Tipoff for AF vs Weber St
In postgame comments Coach P, Assistant Coach Snell and the players did not put any direct blame on the travel, but all commented on the long travel coming to Utah and how it 'did not help'. To me it's was an obvious factor thus I give even more credit to the team for their effort, albeit not nearly enough.
For the game.....
