Cr@zy AFL Divisional Playoffs

Two road teams this week knocked out a 1 or a 2 seed. There was an incredibly bogus hometown call that screwed the New York Dragons and QB Aaron Garcia. But the good news just happened.

The last spot in the Conference Championships was secured by the #4 Cleveland (nee Las Vegas) Gladiators, which took down the #2 Georgia Force 73-70 after FOUR missed PATs by the Cleveland kicker. His kickoff off the iron recovered for a Gladiator TD was the difference. But the game was sealed after a Georgia TD with 8 ticks left by Otis Amey's onside recovery. The game ended with a fight, continuing a weekend of football turning into hockey. (There was a game with so many personal fouls that the announcers lost count, and a WR was booted from the game after taking out a guy rushing the QB. The WR had a 15-yard head start before spearing the DL. In addition, the QB should have been tossed as well because he was kicking defensive players on that play. Of course, it was provoked; the DLs were giving the QB the business after the play was over.)

But we have a Hornet in the Conference Championship game. Perhaps not the one we expected, but we have one none the less. Congratulations, Otis!
