Boyle and the b-ball team all deserve a big thumbs up for a 13 win season. To go from 4 to 13 and to win at SD State and take a few road conference games was a big step forward. Also, considering Archibeque was out all year and Thanasi and Taibi missed large chunks of time to think this improvement was done with Sophomores and JC guys is an even bigger accomplishment.

If we can continue to build the talent base, get bigger, and really defend the home court better with bigger crowds and more wins we might be on to something.

As a program that has fallen behind the other transitional programs in football at least in basketball we are leaps and bounds ahead of UC Davis and So Dak State now. :P

Plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

Per rivals here are our commitments so far for next year.

Elliott Lloyd PG 6-1 160 - Houston, TX 2 Star
John Pena SG 5-11 145 - Mesa, AZ
Michael Proctor SF 6-8 190 - Phoenix, AZ

I agree Blofeld. I like where the program is headed. I think we a healthy Arch and Taibi, we probably would have made the conference tourney. No doubt we will next season. However, I am a little concerned about our height next season. Banks is good but as soon as the other coaches figured out how to play defense against him, he was a little less productive. I think we still need another big guy.

PS - If Sean or Kirk are reading this, I just wanted to say things for being so great to the program. You did a lot for UNC!

From the Houston Chronicle: "Klein Forest is a talented group - they have three guards who are signed to play college ball - Chris Hines (Utah), Elliott Lloyd (Northern Colorado) and Toure Murry (Wichita State). Also huge was the play of Demetri "Meech" Goodson. The Gonzaga signee, who many of you may know as the younger brother of Texas A&M running back and former Klein Collins star Michael Goodson, played the role of floor general perfectly."

Four D-1 signees on Lloyd's Houston-area team...That'll get your attention pretty quick.

I agree, Boyle and the boys made tremendous improvement this season. While not making the conference tourney after such a strong start was a dissapointment, nobody could argue that the program has not grown by leaps and bounds. The victory against CSU was the highlight of the season for me. Combined with a strong first half against Gonzaga, beating SanDiego St. and some solid conference wins, the program was a lot of fun to watch this seanson.

Congrats on a great season!

I'll give props to the bb team as well. It has been a long time since our team wasn't a joke. There were some great wins and the highlight for me also was beating CSU. SDSU was also a very impressive win--probably the best win for the BSC this season.

I'm sure the tribune will have a big write up on the season and some editorials about how much improved the basketball programs for both the men and women are.

The poor tribune has always had to write such negative editorials in the past and now that there is reason for optimism I'm sure the tribune will be fair and also make sure to editorialize that as well.

I look forward to reading that in the tribune.

I'm looking forward to that as well. You know it will be a first rate job that will show its commitment to contribute and support UNC's move to D-I. I'm gonna start holding my breath now waiting for that.
