CSU-Pueblo gets $10 million stadium

I realize this heading is for UNC football but I think it is appropriate to talk about this stadium in relation to ours. How is it that CSU-Pueblo can raise $10 million in about two months? It wasn't from student referendums or alumni support as far as I can tell--I think the city of Pueblo is helping to fund this. This has to be some kind of joke--CSU-Pueblo is going to have a stadium at least as nice as ours. Pueblo hasn't exactly been regarded as a college town yet it is leaps and bounds ahead of Greeley in terms of supporting its university. Greeley truly is a stinkhole that doesn't deserve to have UNC. I am obviously extremely frustrated by this!

They are Division II in the RMAC. I am not thinking that they have many rich alumni but I really don't know.

I believe UNC before moving up to DI had one of the best attendances throughout a season in DII, so I guess its possible for them to fill that place up, but 10 million out of nowhere is interesting. It's possible the school had one student that made it big time in business after college, but yeah maybe the town did cough it up, but 10 million........ :?

Best guess, they got some CSU system dollars and maybe a few state dollars....

I can see bringing back football leveraging donations too.

Congrats to CSU - Pueblo. $10MM should do a nice stadium and building. Our stadium needs more than $10MM though to be competitive in the FCS.

The stadium is supposed to seat 6,000 so with 10 million I'd expect something similar to Nottingham. 10 million doesn't buy much these days, for comparison UNC spent 15 million on the latest facility upgrades and although they are great, and much needed, they aren't jaw dropping or anything.

I think 6000 seats at $10mil will be nicer than nottingham :(

Nottingham cost $4.5mil ten years ago, I would guess you could get the same thing for say $6mil today, so an extra four million would buy some pretty nice goodies, like a video board and lighting...

I think the paper says they are also building a sports facility or team house with the $10MM. Throw in a building like that and it should be decent but I doubt it will be awesome. It is hard to do a stadium and athletic building for $10MM. Still, that is great news for CSU-Pueblo.
