Cubbies, not Bears

As I listen to the blow-out against Cal-Poly I am noticing just how many young players are getting a lot of playing time. Is that the problem? I mean we have a ton of true freshmen and redshirt freshmen on this team that are getting a lot of playing time. It's not just a couple, there's quit a bit. Honestly, is it just a matter of fact that we're so young and we will be much better in a couple years?

I really don't know the answere. We are playing a lot of young players but that doesn't mean we have to be as bad as we're playing. This is the worst Bears team I have EVER seen. I've seen the Bears play since I was 5 years old. I would just like to see a little improvement from last year but we're worse. I pin that on the coaches AND players. We're just horrible in EVERY facit of the game.

That's what I'm putting long term hope in right there. We have 70, count 'em 70, freshmen and sophomores out of (I think) 86 players on the team. That is what I think is hetting overlooked in all of this. Six of the players on the field to open the Hawaii game had never set foot on a college gridiron before. Downing really purged the system of Dalton's old players and started fresh, in essesnce sacrificing the first couple years of his regime. Hopefully, the plan will work. I think all of these young kids will get better with age and their experience early in their college career will benefit the team in the long run.
