Da Bears pt. 2

Tomorrow we take on UNC in Greeley.

The Bears come into the game at 5-9 in conference sitting at 7th in the conf right now and are still fighting for one of the last tournament spots, so we should expect one of thier best efforts to knock us off on thier home court in front of thier fans.

Tevin Svihovec for the Bears has become quite the player, he scored a career high 34 points to lead UNC to a victory over Cal Poly, he was 11 of 16 from the field and 10-11 from the charity stripe.

This Bears team is very dangerous, they can shoot the ball and shoot it well, they are young though and they tend to turn the ball over a lot. In all reality, there is no reason Weber cant win this game, but we can by no means sleep walk past these guys.

Lets Go Weber, only two games left LETS GET THEM

Does anyone know if Unruh is injured or will he play? He is UNC's Bamforth, nice stroke and hits his threes. I read he was injured and did not play in the Cal Poly bracketbuster game, could be one of the reason Svihovec had 31 points.

No the game is thursday the 23

Hahahaha...you were looking on the Weberhoops page weren't you?

Yeah, UNCO isn't an automatic and as Everett points out, the refs "tend" to favor the Bears a bit at the Butt-Cock pavilion. UNCO, is going to be a good team, if not as soon as next year. They have some really young and good players. Not just Tevin, but also, Addo, Huskisson, Garnica, and Keane among others.

I thought it was Thursday, but I looked at this schedule I made at the beginning of the year and it says the 25th which is Saturday.

Must have been a typo

The Bears are playing for their playoff lives right now. Expect a ton of unfavorable calls and a VERY motivated UNC team tomorrow. WSU certainly can't afford to overlook these guys, especially if they heat up from beyond the arc.

Haven't heard for sure but my assumption is that he is going to be playing. Heard he was walking ok.

I will be at the game and am excited to finally see WSU in person. Athletically, WSU has the upper hand, but it is all about how the Bears shoot. They have a lot of guys that can heat up, that is for sure. UNC has shown to be susceptible to turning the ball over, and have trouble defending quicker, more athletic teams, so Lillard could have a big night.

Bears have been playing well lately... were up 7 on Montana in the second half, dominated second half against MSU (not saying much), and had a 17 point lead over EWU before losing. As someone else said, they basically have to win or they are done, so they will be highly motivated. Should be a very interesting game.

As of Wednesday night he is a game time decision.

Jon, I'd like to think that Lillard will have a great night--heck, we all do--but given the officiating in the last two games, it seems that the officiating will not allow him to penetrate. It's seems to me the only way these teams are able to contain him is to sit him on the bench and make him play tentative defense because of foul trouble  . I certainly expect a lot of foul calls tonight but the best thing for Weber is that they have depth on the bench. Bench play has been key in the last two games and I don't think that will change tonight. Saturday's game was a real team effort and a blessing in disguise for the Wildcats because the intensity of that game will prepare them for these next two games. They''ll be ready :thumb:

Hope they win - refs unfortunately will be an issue in the big sky.
A few weeks ago the 6th grade rec league team I coach (my son is on the team) had to play through some horrible reffing. Our team had over 20 team fouls compared to only 6 called on the other team. We got homered big time. I refused to use this as an excuse during the game. I kept telling my team that you got to play smarter and ignore the refs. We ended up losing by 1 point and now I blame the loss on the refs, but my boys did not quit. They played very well. Had the other team not shot a bunch of free throws and our two best players not sat on the bench most of the game, we would have won by 10+ points. But such is life.

The point I am trying to make is you have to learn to play your best in spite of the refs. There will always be bad refs (and even dirty refs like we saw Saturday night). You have to learn to play through it and play smarter. I think this team is able to do it.

UNC's announcer is the definition of a doosh bag

For being so close to the action he sure is blind

UNC's announcer= :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

Almost tempted to turn the volume down.

Anyway, good game by Weber so far, Wheelright is playing great, kinda wish our bigs could play a little more  but not gonna expect much out of greeley, especially after what happened to Montana in the BSC championship game last year :willybs:
