Ok, I was upset after we got our butts handed to us by CSU. I thought we were going to play well and have a good chance to win. We didn't play well and CSU played amazing. They had come off a tough lose to Gonzaga and you could tell came out really focused. They have a dang good coach and are a very good program even though they did lose a ton of good players off last years team. I give them lots of credit. I have a feeling we will rebound in a big way against USU like CSU did against us after getting beat down by the Zags. Its not going to be easy though. The Aggies are very good this year. Here is my position for position break down. I hope some USU fans chime in.
PG. Senglin vs. Roland Advantage EVEN
I like Senglin better because I'm a Weber fan, but Roland is a Senior and solid player so I'm going with even here.
SG Richardson vs. Medlin Advantage AGGEIS
I wish this was not the case, but Medlin is dang good even though I think he is a Punk A$$. I hope Richardson gets out of his slump this game because we need him.
SF Berry vs. Butterfield Advantage Wildcats.
I'm sure USU fans going to get mad at this pick but Berry is just over all better in all areas. I think he has a big game for us.
PF. Bolomboy vs. Davis. Advantage Wildcats
Davis looks like he has been a pleasant surprise for the Aggies, but no way he is better then Joel. I predict Joel has a big game.
Center. Tres vs. Shaw Advantage EVEN
Aggie fans will debate this, but this is too close to call for me. Both very good players. Will be a good matchup.
Bench. Advantage AGGIES
I thought we would have a good bench so far we don't. USU's is actually pretty solid.
I predict a very close hard fought game. I think we rebound and win a close game. 78-74 WEBER
I respect your opinion and analysis.
PG: I'll agree with you here as far as Senglin vs Roland goes, it's pretty even. However, we go 2 deep with PGs who are as good as Senglin, that will be an advantage.
SG: Adv. Medlin, and it's not close.
SF: I don't want to seem like I'm bashisng Berry, I think he's a great player. I think Butterfield is (slightly) better, but I'll call it a push. Butterfield is a great shooter (shot 50% last year, 43% from 3), rebounder, etc. He's a hustler and can do it all. You guys didn't get a chance to see him really last year, but the guy is a stud (averaged something ridiculous like 17 ppg and 9 rpg in the 2nd half of the season last year)
PF: Adv you guys. Davis is still learning a bit, but you're right he has been a pleasant surprise. More athletic than I thought, good hustle. Not a great shooter, though. I like Bolomboy.
C: Adv. USU. Shaw is just a very talented player. Good post game, very solid mid range jumper, good rebounder. Averaging 14.2/8.4 last year, he was one of the best big men in the country. Hope Tresnak is healthy for this matchup, will be fun to watch.
Bench: Like you said, Adv. us.
Should be a great game, I'm expecting a battle. But after seeing us play the likes of USC and Miss St, I think we pull this one out something like 85-78.
