Dancing with Kansas

Kansas wanted to play this game in the 60s. We don't need to play spectacular offense to win this game. We need to be aggressive on offense though (taking it right at them). Where we do need to be aggressive is on defense with rebounding and swarming to the ball. That's how we get it done!

This is fun. lettuce

We can expect some heavy ball pressure in the second half. Kansas is going to make another run and will probably take the lead again. If we can keep our composure we can get this done.

Quick question

Snyder cut... better than the original?

Random...1k times better! Totally different movie...9/10

Completely agree. Loooooooong but oddly satisfying. Hard to rate but on the whole it was a good movie that made a lot more sense. Actually looking forward to another effort at Justice League if it plays out the way this story suggested it might. Certainly like a couple of the characters more now and there's still Saint Gadot :-)

Very proud of this team. Give credit to Kansas for knocking down almost every open shot in the second half. If they miss some of those open looks it's a different game. We are a young team and have a bright future!

go eags!

I will also say that the eags made a name for themselves today and put Cheney Hoops on the map. Nobody is going to forget the Groves Brothers Nationwide after this performance. They're still talking about them in the post game show. It's such a unique story and will stay in the minds of many. If we can make it back to the dance next year you will hear them brought up in almost every Bracketology-type TV show before the dance starts. Great exposure for the University!

go eags!

I thought Eastern played really well today. Unfortunately, Kansas played really well too. If we had played them when they were struggling, which we all hoped for with their Covid issues, I think the result might have been different.

You notice that Eastern is a darn good team just a couple of pieces short of being a great team. We need another athletic big man. He doesn't need to be as good a scorer as Groves, just capable for forcing the other teams to defend us low and then jam up the key on defense.

The only thing that left me a bit disappointed was some of our guard play. Meadows had an off day, and I was quite surprised we didn't see more of Davison and Magnusson. We kept rolling the dice with what we had in the second half and the game sort of got away from us.

The best news is that Eastern can have everyone back next year, and even if Davison and Perry are done, there's still a lot of talent coming back. It's very reasonable to think Eastern is better next year... and this team walked thru the Big Sky tourney without much issue. It'll be important to get started on the right foot in non-con play in the Fall instead of sort of working through the kinks like we did this season. Obviously, not having Covid problems would make that a lot easier--- you know, when we don't have to play against WSU with only six guys available for the entire game.
