DaVaughn Thornton transfer?

WR/TE DaVaughn Thornton (from Denver East) announced he was graduating this May from Colorado and would play his final season of eligibility at another school.

With 3 of his Denver East teammates and some coaching ties here, what does anyone think are his chances of playing this season as a Bear?

He would probably know Seth Lobato and Will Jefferson from CU days, and would know Q Hildreth, Lexington Smith and Jace Davis from Denver East. He and Hildreth won the state basketball championship as juniors.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, heard on the Coach Wristen radio show tonight that DeVaughn is at CSU-Pueblo to finish his last year of eligibility. Without the luxury of the number of scholarships UNC has to offer, depth can be an issue so I'm happy to add a to a position where we were lacking after our #1 TE. We shall see what he has to offer.

Today's Tribune states that Collins tried to lure Thornton to UNC as well as Cameron Mcdonald (a running back). Both chose to play D2. Go figure! Make these two regret their decisions. Beat them bad!!!!

Both chose to go where they liked it more, perhaps it was the coaches, the chance to have a home crowd that shows up, the facilities, who knows why. We have a number of transfers that chose to come to CSU-P for numerous reasons.

Regardless of the outcome, I don't see any decisions being regretted. UNC should handily beat CSU-P with what, 40 more scholarships at your disposal? The depth alone, not to mention I'm sure all those D1 guys are bigger, faster, and stronger than anyone we can put on the field. It's a win-win game for us though, good experience to get before going back to our lowly D2 games and regardless of the outcome it doesn't matter come playoffs.

Let all put our "issues" aside and just enjoy watching UNC kick some CSU-P butt on Saturday. :D

Your home crowd wouldn't show up either if you had 9 losing seasons like we've had.

Not saying they would, but we haven't had that and so for now our players enjoy quite a bit of support from the community. I just have to get my shots in back at people every now and then so thought I would add that part in. I am sure there were numerous reasons that both kids chose CSU-P over various other schools.

You know, we are real happy for CSU-P and their recent uprising. Understand, we have been thru a major losing streak and are just climbing from the bottom of the barrel, and climbing fast ! But don't come on here and start bashing us when you really don't have a clue whats going on at UNC. :D

Where did I bash UNC? In fact, I said you guys will be bigger, stronger, faster, and should defeat CSU-P. Yes we have a bigger crowd and nicer facilities...our facilities are relatively brand new, that is simply a fact and they should be nicer just due to that alone. I don't believe in one post here or on the D2 forum have I said anything negative about UNC so please don't act as if I have. There is only one college football team in the state I would bash, and that is CSU due to numerous negative experiences I had attending games there as a visiting fan.

No doubt. I hate CSWHoo too.

We won't beat you by 40 points. You're not that bad and we aren't that good. Plus, you're better coached.
