Dick Harmon is reporting that UVU's Mark Pope will be the next coach in Provo. Like this is surprising. Does open a job at UVU. Could Eric Duft potentially be a replacement for Pope? My money is on Quincy Lewis getting the UVU job, but it would be nice spot for Duft.

Eric Duft has never been reported as being a top candidate for an open position anywhere. I doubt that trend changes with UVU. Right now Cody Fueger has been named interim HC in Orem. There are a number of Wolverines who are hoping the Burgess is named the next HC, but I have my doubts that he stays at UVU. He will probably follow Pope to BYU (or already has, since he isn't the interim HC). Frankly, I don't know how Pope is going to survive at BYU, since his pipeline has become his home. Most of his talent originally came from BYU and followed him to UVU. Now what does he do?

Burgess attended the press briefing announcing Pope as the head coach. My guess is he is also moving to BYU as an assistant.

I thoroughly agree.

Maybe not officially, but it has already been said that Burgess is going to BYU with Pope. I find it hilarious that Burgess will be coaching at BYU after his history with the program. Just need to bring Roger Reid out of retirement to serve as an assistant now, just for giggles.

It's going to be interesting to see how Pope's approach to recruiting will change at BYU. I expect that it will have to, considering the church requirements he will be saddled with. :coffee:

This looks like a great hire for UVU. Mad Dog has an impressive resume'. Sounds like he has the fire to keep things going there.
