Congrats to lumberjack senior David McNeill for obtaining the 5,000 meter national champion on Saturday. The track meet was televised live on CBS early saturday morning and McNeill looked incredible out kicking the competition in the final lap to win it for NAU. Afterwards he did an interview with Olympian Dan Obrian on national television. It was great seeing one of our own represent us so well on the national stage. As an NAU grad I gelt extremely proud of McNeill and of NAU. McNeill will now represent Australia at the commonwealth games later on this summer. :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Watched the last few laps on tv last Saturday. David McNeill had a hell of a push there at the end. First time since junior high that I've jumped up and down and yelled for a track and field event.

Congratulations to a seemingly stand-up guy.

David has one semester of eligibility left and will be running cross country in the fall. I need to make it up to Flagstaff for the George Kyte Classic or to the one in Tempe/Mesa that ASU hosts.
