Dayton Flyers

Great game, and HUGE win by the Cats!! I'm still in shock. It was fun watching it on their feed. I really like Dayton. Great program, amazing fans, and classy facilities.

In all reality, Weber could easily be 4-0 right now. Against the Ag's it was perhaps the worst shooting performance I have ever seen as a Weber State fan, and the Cats were in it till the last couple min (unlike MJA's poor observations of the game, yes MJA the game was extremely close. 26 lead changes and 16 ties...uh...) and against SJSU, our bigs never showed up and the Cats lost in OT, due to a bad call at the end. So now we know how good we can be if our Bigs actually show up and play. Weber only gets deeper with the return of Fulton (could have really used in in Logan and San Jose, but better to have him fully ready than to push him early). This team will only get better and better...

Right now the player I'm most impressed with is J-Rich. He has really come a long way and his defense on Dillard last night was impressive. Also, he is the one I feel most comfortable with handling the ball. Also, nice to see Scotty have a nice game. Gotta have more of those if the Cats want to be consistently successful. Davion and Gelaun are right there for break out games too. Yes Davion is our leading scorer, but you can tell his defense is improving and he has such a great eye for the court. He sees things sooo well.

:bad:

The Flyers look for a win at University of Dayton Arena on Wednesday as Dayton hosts Weber State. Tip-off is at 7:00 EST and you can catch it on WHIO. The Flyers stand at 4-1 overall. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have a record of 1-2.
Dayton is an overwhelming favorite. Dayton has a record of 2-0 at home. This gives them home-court advantage and a lift against the Weber State 0-2 road record. Also, Dayton has won three straight, and wants to add to that.

StatSmack! Dayton is better than Weber State
The Dayton basketball team finishes what they start, with a better graduation rate than Weber State (90% vs 67%).
We beat real teams. Dayton has more wins against the RPI Top 50 than Weber State this season (4 vs 0).
Dayton has a better overall winning percentage over the last 10 years (0.658 to 0.605).
The Dayton assist leader (Kevin Dillard) has more assists than the Weber State assist leader (Damian Lillard).

That's the way most bigger named schools think about teams like us................It makes it that much sweeter when you take them out on thier own court in front of 12K+
