Dee Event Center Upgrade, NICE!

The Dee Events Center is getting an upgrade sometime in the next year as the old video display ring from EnergySolutions Arena will be installed around the upper tier, a donation from the Utah Jazz.

That will be spectacular, how will it be installed? Along the wall, just above the wall on the ceiling?

If the put it along the top, I'd assume they would have to move the banners. Next guess is they would actually hang the banners from the ceiling (which I might like better). Maybe then they can retire some jersey numbers!!! I like the idea of the ring, how good does it look at ESA currently? And when they jazz have no more need for those new monster tv/replay boards, we will take those too!!

If the ring is going to be mainly used for advertizing, then I'm not a fan. Regardless of how it's used, it will be somewhat a distraction to your eyes. I do like the thought of getting the banners hung where they can actually be seen/noticed and they are long overdue for retiring some jersey numbers.

Hold on guys. I know I have been very quick to judge our current promotions guy. The program needs advertising to function plain and simple. I think it wont be all ads, but I think it will be a good mix of promotional and entertainment. Lets give it a chance before we bash it. I would much rather put my businesses logo on the banner around the arena than have SATOG butcher my promotion.

So the Jazz donated their old video ring to Weber State for the Dee. Should be nice. Not sure how it compares to the current one or how it compares to the other schools in this state.. But should be a little bigger than the current video ring at the arena now. Let's get this thing up! Thank you Jazz, and more specifically, Randy Rigby! :rockon:

didnt roy's article say it would be a ring around the top row of the dee? i dont think it has anything to do with the one hanging above center court thats 2 yrs old.
