Maybe just a little earlier than expected? Maybe just a 3 game speed bump in mid-Feb? The usual disappointments have been mostly in Dec. (bad losses to in-state/higher major teams) & then in late Feb, early March (BSC tourney). Few of us expected Weber State to go undefeated in BSC regular season, but these last 3 losses stink!

The excuses (reasons) are many...I'm sure the silence here from some posters are because they are in replay review (sometimes takes longer) & will find the excuses.

THIS...after the last several seasons, why this fan has lost any excitement or enthusiasm for Wildcat basketball. But Brick3's could still be right in his earlier post prediction; Wildcats may make it to the BSC tourney finals, Coach Rahe's contract is extended till he wants to retire, then Coach Duft will take over?? And the beat goes on?? :-(

Honestly there should be no contract extension given unless there are multiple titles in the last 3 years. I have never seen such a lack of interest in the basketball program. There needs to be an infusion of energy and life into the program, and even with a good record this year, it’s not there.

Given Weber State’s advantages in facilities, I think upper conference finishes without tournament titles should be the ground floor…nothing to get excited about.

We will see how this year plays out, but if it’s another fizzle out and first round exit, the Wildcats program may be stuck in the doldrums if a coaching change isn’t made.

You can’t keep playing the same rotation and strategy and running into the wall year after year.

Late season let downs are an obvious problem. We have seen it too many times to not believe that it is a pattern. This one does seem a bit different because it is coming at a time that it can be corrected. There are a few weeks left to see if it can be fixed. The most positive thing I can say is that I am hopeful. This is the second big speed bump we have had this season.

If there is one single thing that this staff needs to find a solution for it is this. I feel like they have addressed and corrected many of the issues we all hated over the years but this one is still out there and it's a big issue. I want to see the next 3 weeks before committing harry carry. :coffee:

I just want to be clear that I hope I’m wrong. Hoping the cats wake up and hoping that Duft never becomes HC. We have amazing talent on this team. I believe even with maybe less than average coaching this team should be excelling in conference play. Maybe Olds is right and they’ll figure it out, but anything less than winning the tourney is a huge disappointment.
