Disapointing

Let's just hope this Denver game is an aberration and not UNC coming back down to earth. This was definitely like watching the team in the past few years and not like they have played so far this season.

When you can't hit a lay up (not to name names Anderson and Palacious) you're not going to win much. When you can't avoid stupid turn overs or hit an open jumper you aren't going to win much. When you have only one guy that's any sort of a scoring threat (Banks) you aren't going to win much.

DU is a pretty lousy team so I'm just praying this was a one off bad game. The unfortunate thing is that this was UNC's chance to make a statement and let all the programs in the state know they are legit. Instead they forgot to show up.

Beyond that the FSN broadcast was a joke. At least three or four times the refs made some bizarre calls and they didn't even explain or acknowledge what happened. DU hits a shot, we go to inbound the ball, the whistle blows, the ball is give to DU and the announcers make no mention of what the call was or why that happened. Were they even paying attention?

We did look pretty bad. I knew we would have one of these games after solid wins against CSU and Bowling Green. The biggest thing we are missing is Taibi. Our outside shooting is really bad. No one is hitting big shots outside the arch. Anyone have a clue when he'll be back? We've got a couple weeks off for break so maybe Sean will return after that.

The key this to season will be how they perform in the Big Sky. These OOC games are nice to have but this team isn't going to the tourney so it's not critical.

If we can't demonstrate the ability to be competive in conference then that will be a disapointment. How we do there will really tell us if we have improved this year and by how much.

Hopefully we can get a full, healthy, roster together once we hit conference play.

That was a very disappointing loss. DU is a bad team. For a televised game vs. an in-state rival you would have hoped for more. The BB squad is showing improvement overall, let's just hope this last game was an anomaly.

This happens to established powerhouse basketball teams, you had to think it would happen to us a couple of times. It makes it hard to judge where we are as a program though.

I am looking forward to the Pacific Northwest road trip to see how they bounce back.
