disapointments

We are only disappointed when we have high expectations. For me the highest of expectations started after the NC in 2010. The biggest disappointments I recall are away games I traveled to.
1. @ South Dakota in Vermillion SD, they kicked our arse!
2. @ Southern Utah. We were the better team, they wanted it more.
3. @ Weber State last season. EB3's first start and the Wildcats were well coached and it was obvious they were going to pressure the hell out of this young QB, and it worked. He had pressure in his face almost every play. I still wonder what might have happened if we simplified the game plan and kept jab, jab, jabbing, marching us down the field?
What are your biggest disappointments?

For me the ND game in Cheney a couple of years ago....the ran to the left ....EVERY PLAY...sitting next to my Bison Uncle and having me call out their plays probably didn't help.

How about every semifinal loss? The 2012 loss to Sam Houston State wasn't too bad in that they were a little better than us. But every other one was a total letdown. Both losses to inferior Youngstown State teams and a complete late-game mess against Towson.

That said, I'd say the 3 worst were QF against Sam Houston State in 2004, SF against Towson in 2013 and Sf against Youngstown in 2017. All three ended with us needing a single defensive stop over the last two possessions and failing to do so.

Forgot about the "back catch" ....only saw it once as I was on vacation...had to replace my phone after watching it...its like a black out episode for me :-)

This. Especially the Towson game. We were an overthrown 4th and 2 pass away from winning that game. :x :x

Also, the 2007 loss to Montana where they kicked a fg to win the game at the end.

1. The Second Half of the 2016 Semi-Final game. Shock! Screaming shock! (Did that loss convince Coach Baldwin it was an opportune time to take the next step in his coaching career?)
2. No blame, but losing Vernon Adams to Oregon State.

Read all these disapointments...all super vailid. Have several others but Rangers "back catch" is also my biggest nut punch.

'but Rangers "back catch" is also my biggest nut punch.' And the irony that it was caught against Ketner Kupp's back and would specifically deprive brother Cooper from playing in a national championship game. Fate can go either way, but in close games it can be excruciatingly painful. On that day the best team did not win, because its lead was not extended, but allowed to wither away until the freak touchdown, few seconds remaining. I can not imagine how our players felt or still feel. Time may heal wounds, but does not alter outcomes, or might-have-beens. May there be no Eagle disappointments today!

Direct quote from Coach Best after the game. Really? 45 isn't enough? Have a hard believing this group gets back to Frisco. Lost too much in the secondary.

He was fighting hard for players as to not throw them under the bus and protected them...to me he said all the right things...gotta long season ahead of us now and it just got longer.

Players block, tackle, pass and catch... but they need to be put into posititons to be successful. That didnt happen today

JSU Fan here. I have attended every JSU home game since 2013.

Y’all have a GREAT team. The best I have seen during the regular season on our home turf. Every once and a while the better team does not win the day, and today might have been one of those days. Good luck the rest of the season and if we meet again in the playoffs, I hope it is not until Frisco.
