Disney has GOT to go...

I just left the opening showing (unless one counts the special preview held for a local school field trip) of Prince Caspian. Disney has completely RUINED the story. Oh, the acting was fine, but those script writers have SOME nerve. They did a TON of monkeying around with the plot order. They insinuated at least two plot devices that did NOT exist in the book (namely a jealousy between Prince Caspian and High King Peter and a near romance between Caspian and High Queen Susan). They made a HUGE mistake in casting someone WAY too old for the part of Caspian. (The part was originally designed for a kid of about 13 or 14, not 21.) Another casting error was the usage of Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok) as the evil dwarf Nikabrik; Davis previously portrayed the part of Reepicheep the Talking Mouse and did a MUCH better job on that than the CGI mouse did. I was also disgusted with the near wardrobe malfunction early in the movie involving Susan (her shirt nearly came open during a romp in the bay near the ruins of Cair Paravel) and a near upskirt shot of Queen Lucy during the same sequence. The part was intended for a girl of about 10 or 11. Disney ought to be ashamed of themselves for this rot they've foisted on us.

If you like the books, go back and check out the BBC/PBS Wonderworks version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian with Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair. Less CGI and crazy action sequences, to be sure, but MUCH better done, IMO. Truer to the original plotline, and better acting to boot.
